Man, don't lose heart. I for one have a bit of a temper and use to let it 'interfere' with things and stress me way out. Like's been said before @#$-ups can be undone.

i put this in another post but im literally thinking about doing a main post but if i fall into enough money i might say something like , u like fixin up cb350f's i will give u a grand to fix her up and whatever money u don't spend on parts the rest is yours thats how desperate im starting to get because im sick of nice weather while the bike just sits there and me staring at it like i'm about to dismantle a bomb , whats funny is im a college student so i already dont have any money so that just shows u how badly i want her done

beginner screw-ups are not only permissible, they're expected! just remind your self that the only real way to learn is from mistakes. slow progress is progress just the same, and more knowledge than you had the week before.

also, never compare your self to others... especially some of the old pros on this forum! i am, for one, the sucker fish to their underbelly. anything that falls outta of theirs mouths i scoop up

Man o Man that is the spirit!!!! with a bunch of other projects (including two low mile CB350's) staring at me and my empty wallet, and some serious beginner mistakes with a VW motor that took our 73 Westy out of the game..(admittedly it was probably due for a real full out rebuild anyway)....reading your post I feel better

I love this place even though I am a total newb...sometimes I feel just like I am sitting between Cliff Claven and Norm Peterson from Cheers just taking in the scenery

Yeah, keep plugging away. It can be tough but keep things in perspective - you got a free bike!! I had to part with 450 just to wheel my old girl into the truck. Oh yeah, and I can service my 350f pretty good but still cannot post a pic!! Not to thread jack but anyone know how to resize with Vista??

have to confess, as i dish out that sage advice i'm also telling my self. i've been around cars my whole life (rebuilt most everything once or twice); but i've been out of the game for many years and these bikes are a whole new ball of wax- still.

Bike looks great, I can completely relate to your frustrations. Although I have quite a bit of automotive experience, I am currently doing my first motorcycle restoration, a '74 CB550 I purchased with only 3800 miles on it. It has been over a month since I brought her home to my garage and while I was naive to think it would be on the road after a week or two, I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. Take your time, spend plenty of time researching everything here, I don't think there has been one instance of not being able to find the info I was looking for already posted somewhere on these forums. Also, remember, it's only April you will have plenty more time to be out on the roads this summer with your beautiful 350. Just spend the time to make sure things are done the correct way and it will certainly be worth it in the end.

Patience. Take your time with it, I've been working on my CB350F for a long long time and it's almost ready. not ready yet, but so close I can taste it. One thing I've learn't is take the time and do it right. If you get frustrated, walk away from it for abit. A wise man once said "It's always faster to do something twice then it is to do it right." Be patient with it, don't rush it and it'll get done sooner. And if you have any questions this forum is the place to ask. nothing but support and advice here. Good luck with your bike. It'll be done before you know it.

We've all been there, one step forward, 1 back , 2 forward,etc. Sometimes the bikes fights you and you have to hang in until it surrenders. I've often wanted to "fix" it with a larger f'n hammer only to cover it up, walk away, come back in the morning and keep going. I was whining heavily to a friend and he sent me this. I posted over my workbench.
Keep going, you'll be glad you did when you're riding it and somebody says to you "NICE BIKE!" when you're parked somewhere.

People who do what you do, to the degree that you do, deserve a great deal of accolades for your work. It is very tough for people to complete such tasks but even a greater talent to have a vision of the finished product and make the hands do what the mind's eye sees. The only way to complete this kind of undertaking is exactly the way you are.

First pic I saw I thought it looked like a gem. You've done a great job with the polish work, thats a skill in and of itself, take pride in that. I know it's tough to have her in peices and wanting to ride, but once you are done you will have a feeling of accomplishment. If it's any consolation, I put my front fender on wrong which messed with my front brake. I didn't figure this out for months and couldn't figure out why my car was getting better mileage than my bike. It took forever until I had an epiphany that it goes fork, fender then brake arm ( I think

)!. What I am getting at is it takes time, but the more I learn the more I can do and the more confident I get. You will get there, and this forum is an awesome place to get the knowledge you will need and the support to keep going. Don't give up!!

alrighty haven't touch the bike in a while still upset with trying to do a simple thing like handlebars but no worries

i just a couple things in today that will not go on the bike probably at my luck for a long but hopefully my goal is to find a cb guru here in denver that has some extra time to help me out because when i got this bike in feb. i made a bet with myself saying " i won't shave my beard till i get this thing at least on the road " and now look at me!!!

anyways heres a couple pics of the new exhaust that came in the mail my original mufflers are perfect on one side but the other side has some nice tiger claws from being droped and also the lower right one is rusting out

anyways too much talking

cool huh but me no touchy!

just gonna wait for a cb guru to be inspired and help me get this bike goin.

that was a journey to find em because everyone was saying they weren't making them anymore so i tried at the source and made a expensive call overseas and they said they didn't have any in the warehouse then i tried multiple sites i had bookmarked for the exhuast and they weren't listing them up so i called them to see if they had any just unlisted and they told me the same answer nope", so i tried the last company and they had one set left so i did the biggest impulse buy of my life and got it , ohh and with shipping everything was 600.00 i could of got everything i would ever need for the bike for that price but the exhaust might never be avalaible

I really had to bite the bullet when I got my MIVV's but it's a decision I do not regret. They absolutely make the bike. You aren't going to chop up those good mufflers for the head pipes, are you?

as i said me no touch are you suppose to chop the old exhaust off to keep the pipes or are they a separate piece cause what it sounds like your saying is if i wanna keep the old exhaust mufflers if i ever want to switch out i have to get a whole nother set of pipes?

the taillight is actually going to be cool whenever i have someone make a custom clean mount for it but here is where i got it

The MIVV Mufflers are designed to work with the original honda headpipes (which have to be cut away from the mufflers). If you say at least some of your original exhaust system is still good I would deffinitely go looking for another set of headpipes instead of hacking up what you have.
