Did I just go over to the dark side of CBs?
« on: February 21, 2009, 06:51:51 PM »
So I just answered a craigslist ad for a CB750.  I didnt realize it at first, but it was actually an ad for a 1979 10th Anniversary edition of the CB750.  So I went and looked at it, and it had DUAL overhead cams. But it looked great, had electronic ignition, fired right up. minor issues, but nothing i cant take care of. so i BOUGHT it.  Have I gone to the darkside by leaving my single overhead camed brethren for my only bike?  :D f

How come there is no forums.dohc4.net??

Nah you're doomed bro....give it up, next you'll want carbon fibre wings and plastic mags.
That second bump aint really a cam, it's an ashtray and the one on the other side is a double drink cup holder, Japans' little joke on us Oxidentals! ;D
Once you strip it down you'll find a 250 Benelli twin wedged up inside the fake motor casings.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

As long as in purchasing the bike, you didn't sell out and trade in your sohc! ;)

I'll say this, I owned an 81 750C for a while, and those DOHC 750s can sure move.

Having said that, yes, you've gone over to the Dark Side.  Cue Ewan McGregor to slice your limbs off and toss you into a lava pit.   ;D

Shoot, he probably would've done that just for him having bought a Honda.  You DO know he's all about the Triumphs and such.  Just watched "The Island" again last night, good flick.
