need with with fork boots
« on: February 24, 2009, 08:53:20 PM »
hey i have a lowered cb750 with a fork brace, for starters i was wondering if the fork brace is even worth it. i bought it with it already on but i want to take it off to replace with fork boots which leads me to my next question, since the bike is lowered 2" in the front what size fork boot should i use i was thinking like a 10 wave boot also what do i have to do to be able to get those boots on. right now i have black elbow supports Velcroed  together as dust covers for now, not my idea just trying to get rid off the halfa**ed look that the previous owner had going so please help me out im 18. im almost finished this project

here are some pics of the front i just put the clubman bars a seat on too

You will need gators (Fork boots - accordion type if that is what you are asking) and then there are two rings that go around the top of the boots and at the bottom of the fork ears.  The fork ears look stock.

The brace will have to go.

Check out the fische at bikebandit.com to see what I am talking about.

Do a search from the main forum (first or second link in the breadcrumb) and use the word gators.  Tons of posts with regards to your questions.  THen you might get the answer you are looking for.

that looks more like a tweak bar that mounts on the tubes, not a fork brace that mounts on the sliders.
