My Dad never let me..............
« on: October 15, 2005, 06:15:43 PM »
Well I bought a CL350 to restore this winter for the wife to ride. Picked it up in WA off of Ebay. Turned out it was in far worse shape than it was made out to be, but brought it home anyway.  Rebuilt the carbs, new plugs, new ignition, new battery and she finnaly started today. Good fun, rode it into the hills abit before bringing it home.

Well, there's my 12 year old daughter in a crap mood, so I thought what the hell...do you want to learn to RIDE today?
Huge grin and off we went to a field down the road. I was amazed at how fast she figured out the clutch. I had the BIGGEST #$%* GRIN on my face for over 1/2 hour ;D

My Dad never let me ride as a kid, or so he thought anyway.

I said above 1/2 hour because it was about that time she got a bit of a a slow wobble and pulled the throttle just a smidge to hard.........luckily she had the front wheel off the ground when she hit the fence :'(

The fence caved in and no harm was done to her. She got right back on and rode for another 1/2 hour. My wife also had her 1st  lesson and it went well.

Now that it's running , time to TEAR it apart for the Winter Restoration.......anyone have a front fender? the fence was not so kind on the bike ::)

My Dad missed out on some good FUN!

Oh man, that was my first bike!  Same color but yours is in much better shape, cosmetically at least.  I had more fun in the hills with that, and rode miles and miles and miles on the road.  Wish I had it back, but time marches on.  Glad to hear you're teaching your daughter to ride.  Like you, my dad refused to let me ride as a kid.  Didn't make that mistake with my own kids, and now we enjoy riding together when we can all be in the same place at the same time.

What is a scrambler bike doing with a windshield???

Well, you had a laugh at me when I bought my CB350 and lately there are lots of them around as winter projects. I have mine stripped down by now, and having a lot of fun. Well, I have to admit that it is easier to disassemble than to reassemble.

P.S. You will find lots of mudguards on eBay. Unfortunately the european mudguard doesn't pop up often. I will have to rechrome mine...

I removed the silly widshield the day I got it home, along with the rear carrier ::)

There is an Ebay auction on right now for 2 72 CL350s in Seattle, It ends today, I'm high bidder at $26.00. Have to leave for San Antonio TX in an hour so the wife is in charge of winning the bid :-\
