quick tail light wiring question
« on: February 26, 2009, 05:38:09 AM »
Just got my tail light for my project.    Only has 2 wires - red and blk.  There is a screw inside the housing  for the ground.  What color should be wired for brake light / running lights?  Is there a standard ?  Of course no instructions came with it.  Thanks in advance
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Don't know what year/model you are talking about.......

Generally on the bike's harness, tailight is brown, stop light is green/yellow.
Ground on these old Hondas is always green.
Hook some test leads to a battery, figure out which wire is which on your taillight replacement, then wire accordingly.

on a few generic lights I have had the stop was red and running light was black, if not.... try the other way  ::)
