72 sukuki titan t500 with pics

well ladies and gents. here is the first picture of my newest acqusition. it's a badly modified 72' suzuki titan. on the plus side theres a good title now in my name. bad parts. no original swingarm, or rear drum backing plate with brake hardware. badly mauled shock mounts (i'm going to have to fab some new ones)  the front end is nowhere near complete but whats there is original. badly dented/bondoed gas tank. other good parts are it was free, has excellent original mufflers and 1 excellent headpipe. this motorcycle as it's so far from original now that it's going to be heavily modified. here it is in all it's scabourous glory in my front yard this evening. the k4 750 will be off the lift in the next dar or 2 then it's into the shop and on the lift.

Man that is one sad looking Titan Fuzzy, I owned 2 of those excellent bikes, had one fault...soft gearboxes.
But I always blamed the amount of raw two stroke power coming from those massive paint tin lid sized pistons for destroying 6 speed boxes. ;D
Pulled the most amazing wheel stands, just get up to speed and drop her down one or two gears give her a fist full and up she comes (er hang on maybe that's what wrecked those gearboxes?)
Looks too far gone for a restore so you get my traditionalist blessing to rebuild what ever you want as long as it goes. ;D
I think a few house moves back I dumped just about all the bits you'd need to restore it too...dumb dumb dumb!
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

this one seems to have the 1400cc gear case already so thats good news. there are quite a few things i'm going to need, but i've decided to use the kawi750 front end with the original drum, instead of the heavy original springs on the outside forks. i DO want the original swingarm and rear drum as well. front wheel is in good shape, the rear rim is going to have to be replaced as it's way too rusty. it has one cylinder and barrel but i think i'd rather just start over with a new (to me) matched set with some over size pistons. i'm not kidding myself either, i know this is going to be a long term project but when done this is going to be one hot little suzi. wont be another like it, at least here in columbia sc

I see you like the "strange bikes" like myself ha ha......I once built my kids a minibike out of a Kwaka frame, Suzuki tank, Yamaha 125 Landscout motor....went like sn*t and pulled wheelstands in all gears!
I built a mini chopper using a Jawa frame and a rabbit scooter motor, had a Zundap tank....oh yeah and no brakes lol. :D
Built myself a trail bike (river rat) so I could keep an eye on the kids at the river when they were riding the minibike, think it was bits of Yam with some suzi chucked in on a TT500 frame...beast bike but damn reliable. ;D
So I was a bit of a butcher in my past life, now I frown on anything not being rebuilt to spec...hipocrit thy name is Hush. ;D

if this one was more original that it is it would get restored. i'm kind of glad it IS in such poor shape so i wont feel bad about extensively modifying it.

I don't see why you don't fully restore it... all it would cost is a small fortune and enough time to acquire all the parts... ;)

Of course, customizing it you'll probably still spend a small fortune and may never acquire all the parts you really want!

But I need Tacos!  I need them or I will explode!

he could always will it to his grand kids, by then enough parts to finish it back to spec might have been dug from the tar pits. ;D
