For this first time since 1981....
« on: February 27, 2009, 11:51:26 AM »
The K2 750 engine I installed in Frankenbike (K2/F3 hybrid) ran today. I haven't gotten it to idle or to run without the choke yet, but it started and fired on all four cylinders. It also sounded good, with no hesitation, clicking, rattling, clattering or other noises.

The plate on the parts K2 750 the engine was transplanted from was last renewed in 1981. I believe that's the last time the engine ran. The odometer showed about 12,000 miles.

I don't know that anyone on the forum cares about this, but my wife and I are the only ones who still live in this house and I KNOW she doesn't care. I had to share with someone...

Go, Patrick...it is one of the best feelings in the World to get an old motor fired-up after years and years of laying around ...sorry yer Mrs. doesn't care...I solved that problem by getting mine her own bike..which she now loves more than me !!!
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,
