It's Friday, what have you learned?
« on: February 27, 2009, 05:42:54 PM »
So it's Friday; what have you learned today or this past week?

I learned that no matter how hard you work on a cheap fix, that's all it is and it's going to get expensive when it gives.

...oh

and that I haven't lost my ability to read paperback books in 6 or 7 hours.  yay!

Don't feel bad though, for real. My uncle is from Mexico, great cook, he was chopping those death peppers and scratched his arm pit.... that was probably the worst three days of his life.

I've just learned that if someone pisses me off or just annoys me overall, I can get them good by putting a little habanero pepper in their shoes, down the back of their ass-crack-showin' pants or wherever I can slip it without being caught.  8) My outlook on life just got a big boost.

I learned not to piss off the wife as she has just learned the above as well.  :-\ ;D

I learned:

  • that some smoke coming from my valve cover breather isn't the worst thing in the world but could mean I have an issue with one or more rings.  This has been suspected for other reasons by the PO
  • how to post my Twitter feed to my blog
  • how to put a 2 year old into an ergopak with minimal assistance
  • how to make focaccia
  • how to use my cellphone camera to stitch together a panoramic picture and send it to my email

I learned that after going thru the whole process of trying to get the linkage off a set of 500-4 carbs, that the person running a thread on here looking for said parts, then does not take them.. :o

This of course happens right after someone jumps in and says  on that thread, check your PM... ::)

The good part of it, these were really frickin clean primo parts from a desert like area, they would have spoiled the look of that corroded beast they are trying to put on the road.. :o

And that is the 2nd time that happened this week... :o

I learned that I'm a terrible bowler, sober.  And an even worse bowler with some brew in me.

I learned that my 8 year old is more fearless than I thought last week....this seems to be a trend.  He amazes me and I love it.

I learned that a decent violin is insanely expensive. :o

I learned a better grip to fix my piss poor golf slice. >:(

I learned one of my boys at Northeastern U. made honor roll again and my daughter is looking at apartments in the $2,400-2,800/mo range.

Geez, that's like 5 times more than my mortgage!  ???
the difference would pay for another sohc/4 or two every month   ;D

Anyhoo- I learned why almost new Sportster shocks are a dime a dozen on eBay and they won't fit a Royal Enfield anyway.
