Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

Yea, the after story would be interesting, lol.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

This makes what I once thought of as abuse seem pretty mild. I would love to see the inside of that engine.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I never understood people who thrive on destruction like that... I've seen lots of people do similar things to engines as a last hoorah... But, just seems like a waste of good parts  ::)

The problem is, if you go out and beat on someone...cough, cough.. something that deserves it might hit back or worse yet you might go to jail. :o

Like the mouth-breather V-Twin parties where they hang a Jap bike from a tree limb with the throttle locked on for entertainment.

Man it irks me too.

Its not mine so I dont see how it matters. Its not something I wouldnt personally do but im thankfull we all dont have the same common interests. If they get off by being destructive then so be it as long as it doesnt harm me.

Actually, that's an interesting article.  These guys went to prove the "hypothesis" that Japanese bikes are bullet proof.  They state at first that it is not scientific but in the proper way they outline the experiment, the expected results and log the actual results.  Also, even though it seems destructive, it is a good lesson of what can happen when an engine is not maintained and is abused.

This reminds me of a story I read years ago in one of the motorcycle mags about an occurrence at Daytona Bike Week .  It detailed an annual ritual wherein the 'faithful' select a Japanese bike to destroy.  The method varies from year to year.  They'll drop it from a crane, or bash it with sledgehammers, run over it, etc.  The lucky bike for that year was a Kawasaki 750 twin and the method of humiliation was to drain the oil from it, pin the throttle wide open, start it and let it rip in neutral.  As I recall, the story said it ran for 5 minutes before seizing.  I thought that was remarkable, especially considering the 750 twin wasn't one of Kawasaki's more robust designs.  I remember wondering what they thought they proved, as I figured a Harley of the day probably wouldn't have lasted a minute in the same circumstances.

I would bet there are many UJM owners that would do the same with HD given the chance, problem being they dont seem to be throwaway.. or laying around..

That likely means something, it up to everyone to decipher the meaning.. to their own  conclusion..

its machines, if they have no apparent value they will get recycled, or abused and recycled............

Man.

That is kind of interesting. I don't like seeing things destroyed like that either, but it's still kind of interesting.

If you dont destroy stuff you won't ever find out what breaks, do you think they wrap everything in bubble wrap at the factory, he'll no they abuse the piss out it. All of you who  are thinking oh the poor little motorcycle, don't be so closed minded. If there wasn't people who blow stuff up every now and then, no one would know what the limit was!
