Topic: A couple of questions from pics??? Any advice is appreciated.

I figure these parts all have to do with starting my bike.  My question is what are they called from left to right, clockwise?  I know the first thing is a fuse holder. I see a total of 5 things with connectors on them.  But after that I'm lost.  And based on the pics, do you think they should be replaced or just fixed up?  I don't know if they work since the wires are pulled and the battery is off. 


So this is where I'm trying to remove the handle bars but I'm having a heck of a time pulling the wires through.  Any tips or tricks to make this process a little easier?

This is the progress so far.  Battery is out, main wiring harness is off, ignition coils, rear fender and lights, etc.

You now have photos, so............... Remove it all, clean it up with a bit of Paint thinner and a toothbrush. Get some wet sandpaper and clean all the connectors. Usually all will be well.

If sliding wires through bars seems a pain, just run them outside and zip tie them on the back side. No biggy.

Thanks for helping me ID them.  Now I know what to look up in the manuals.  This place it awesome!  I'm gonna clean them up to see if I can get good contacts.

Is this the number that tells me the Honda is a 1975?

I think that's a K2 from the number;
This is what's quoted on page III of my Honda Parts List Book

CB750  Engine No. CB750E-1000001       CB750k2  Engine No. CB750E-2000001
          Frame  No. CB750 -1000001                     Frame No. CB750 -2000001

It also states further down the page that K1 Frame & Engine Nos begin with 104xxxxx From this I would assume that K3 starts with 3xxxxxx; K4 is 4xxxxxxx; and so on. Perhaps there's someone that can confirm this?

As regards pulling the wires through the handlebars, use wd40 liberally and tug them out one bunch at a time, sprinkle your work liberally with swear words (but save some for when you're putting them back in). DO NOT be tempted to cut the connectors off at the end!
To replace them in the handlebars, I bunched the wire ends together, tied them with a long piece if garden wire (quite thin, but sturdy) fed the other end through the bars and pulled the wires along until they came out the other hole.

So as I was pulling the wires through the handle bars last night, I broke the throttle control from the handle bar and I also sheared a couple of connectors off the ends of the wires. But the bars are off and I can look forward to getting a new set and buying some new controls.
