In light of the stellar nominations from the past I believe its high time for the true road warrior bikes to have a moment in the sun.  They're not usually the prettiest, or cleanest, but they are ready for the road and take their masters wherever they're told.

Case in point.......  I nominate Shenanigans's 550

I think there's a bike under there somewhere.............

Oh yeah, here it is.

I'd like to nominate Loonymoon's bike. I've admired this clean ride for a while and figured it deserves consideration.

Check out this site for some background here.

Cool! I just PMed her for a heads up. Maybe she's got more/better images of it. Speaking of Road Warrior bikes I'd like to see pix of Andy's nice bike all geared (kitted?)up.

Yes, more pix of VWdans too.

that 350 is really, really nice. (dont sell her!!!)
as for pics (and big they shall be.) i've got a bit of snow holding my old barn doors closed. 15 inches plus the drift to be more accurate.
i'll dig it out in the a.m. and snap some new pics. the white should make for a good backdrop.
geeeesh.  i'm totally over this winter crap. i cant even imagine what its been like for all you mid-west, and candaian folks.
the jersey shore just got dumped on.
BRING ON SPRING!!!!!
p.s. my vote goes to the silver 550.  i loved reading his posts telling of his miles cover, breakdowns repaired, and laydowns endured.  ...and damn straight you bring your skateboard.
ok, back to my beer.
don't take me too seriously.

Another VolkswagenDan Nomination here!

Dan and I are good friends and ride together all the time.
It sucks riding with him because all I do is stare at his bike the whole time!
I was lucky enough to watch him build the bike and also help out here and there.
It is one of my fave Cafe's and an inspiration for my eventual 750 build which will be a "stylistic brother" to his bike.
You can hear that bike coming from a mile away!

1) Kudos to your avatar Leaky (btw, see a doctor for that), that's one of my favorite 'tracker images ever. Dan's bike is definitely above the fray!

2) VWdan, we should all gang up on 'moon. A crushing recession is no excuse (assuming here) to sell! Also, being in MA I feel your "this winter has jumped the shark" sentiments. Especially regarding this storm.

3) I like Funjimmy's brave solution for reducing unsprung weight from the front end. Those calipers are heavy!
His bike is clearly a future contender.

Just undergoing a little paint and detailing.
