Ever since me school days I don't feel so inspired to get stoned trashed on St. Paddy's day lately.
I am becoming bitter old man before I become middle-age man. WTH  ???

Now that sounds like the breakfast of champions! Eat yer heart out Wheaties!
Still not on par with drivers and doughnuts for a complete breakfast.
Or a 20% St. Pat's tea (with extra additives).

Two years ago I watched a guy walk out of the pub across the street from First Ave (night club) and get hit by a car. He puked green beer every where, it was pretty gnarly.

Happy St Patty's Day!

I was gonna start another thread like this but tooooo late, things won't suck so much as soon as I can get a computer at home........
I am so much Irish that my grandpa's last name is Patrick, he passed a few years ago and after that we (the family) were searching our past more with the help of their old belongings. We heard a rumor that we were kin to ST. Patrick him self and low and behold we find some old articles stating just that, it talked about how their were many different clans that were from the Patrick clan. Some of the names were changed to MacPatrick or KircPatrick and I thought that was pretty cool. One of my cousins has even been ableto go back over to the homeland and meet up with some of the old family, even cooler because the first time I heard of this I was just 5 or 6 yrs old and I heard that the family that was still over there stuck there noses in the air at us because we left...
My wife and I (because she's also 75%Irish) have corned beef and cabbage 14 or so times a year and as of last night I ate the largest ammount of corned beef and cabbage in one sitting, you wouldn't believe the ammount of gas that I have right now  :D, and as I type I am eating leftovers of that same goodness.
Happy St. Patricks day to all my fellow Irish.

I always like to see people enjoy my day. Sadly, I will not be among the drunken celebrants as I had to give up the spirits a few years back because of a desire to live to 50. Don't ask me why I wanted to live to 50. I should have died young enough for people to miss me. Now I will probably end up like my grandfather - 101 years old with nuns outside his bedroom door (hired by his children) praying for him to die. And that was before he got sick.

Ah, memories.

Giv it up never it in your blood man, just switch to wine and give it time and moderation. Wine was made by the father not man, and it will help to regulate cholesteral, digestion, blood pressure, and anti cancer properties. Moderation is the key though, one glass with dinner.
So is patrick you last name or first? Might be a relative.

Irish, Norweigen, Native American, French, German, and Iranian? How the hell...

Everyone in my family is... a little off. I was starting to suspect my family tree looked like a stump, but no. It isn't so.

My Dad's side is all Irish, my mothers side is a bunch of mutts. I had an Iranian Great Grandmother. What the hell.

I am, as is my father, a Shaughnessy (not O'Shaughnessy - the O'Shaughnessys worked for us). My mother was a McLaughlin/McNulty mix. My father is first generation American. His father was born in Dunmore in Galway. My dear departed mother was third generation American whose family came from County Mayo. Marrying someone not Irish descent? Unheard of in their families in their day. Imagine the looks on their faces when I showed up my future bride, whose mother was Hawaiian native and whose father was American of French descent. My mutt sons get angry easily because of their Irish blood. The French blood, however, makes them less than inclined toward fistfights (My ancestors grieve).

I'm not sure what effect their Hawaiian blood has on them. They do like water, though.

My Grandmother loved this particular Irish blessing:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Blame yourselves. You got me started. I can proudly talk Eire all day long.

Síocháin.

Here's another toast (not sure if it's irish):
To our wives..and our girlfriends...may they never meet! :D

The family Burke always has a good get together. Good food, good beer, good whiskey, good times. ;)

Do you pronounce that "burk" or "burk-eee"? Out of curiousity. My tattoo artist and I are "burkes" and "burkey" and we share the same family crest.

Damn Inky...we're damn near cuzins! I'm Irish, English, German AND Lithuanian. Yeah... that's always the curve ball nobody sees coming. Oh yeah, there's some Spanish on both sides of the family...way back.

Here's one to ya! I'm enjoying an "Old Speckled Hen" right now. ;D My English ancestors are very happy about this. My Irish ancestors are none too happy...can't understand why I'm not enjoying something like a fine Guiness. The Germans? They don't understand why I'm drinking dirty water. And the Lithuanians? Why waste time with all of this minor league stuff when you can go straight to the majors with some finely distilled potatoes?  ::) ;D ;D
