Ok, some of you may have read that I had a little incident last week.
I took 2 days off, my birthday and the day after, to get my bike legal and do some fine tuning when I got my parts came in.
Had to pay a small penalty at the DMV, after sales tax and tags and registration and all that it cost me about 60 dollars to leave. Parts didn't come in.
Lowered my front forks, Exhaust is dangerously low. Not sure what to do about that. I should invest in some shorty shocks, but my finances are non-existant right now. So, that will have to wait.
So, over the next couple days I have to:
Find 4 replacement bolts
= 2 for rear inner fender, 2 for chain gear cover
Actually wire in my turn signals and brake light
Cut and polish stay bar for exhaust hanger and license plate brakelight bracket.
Body wise I need to:
Bondo, sand, paint seat
cut foam and fabric for seat and attach
re-bondo and paint tank due to oopsie.
When my parts come in, I may have to jet my carbs. (I have 2 sets of jets to tinker with)
I'm off wednesday, today and tomorrow nights, should give me enough time to complete these tasks. As the turn signals, gear cover, and inner fender are all in place are just needing installed, that should take all of 20 minutes tops.
The seat will probably take some help and most of at least a few hours to bondo, fix, cut foam, adhere, sew fabric and prep for paint.
I'm riding it without the seat complete because it still serves it's purpose, it's just ugly.  ;D

Did the cables work? You might want to lube them after the first month of being installed. Just to be safe.

P.S. Your springs are almost done.

I'm pretending you don't have my shocks. You're hurt and you're not working on it. Go lay down.
 ;D
And yes, the cables worked perfectly. I will keep that in mind if they start to feel sticky.

let the man strive laboriously for your shocks.  It's part of the recovery process.

uh, the guy rode a motorcycle to a race (probably woulda commandeered a tracker if he could) so the shock argument is moot.

moot is a funny word. i don't get to use it much, funny considering it sums up my life, so i thought to toss it in. it looks funny, sounds funny, and doesn't seem like a real word. say it with me: mooooooot. so there ya go.

sorry, motorcycles...

I used moot a few weeks back on here. I honestly can't rmemeber ever using it in a typed coversation.

i would only use it in writing. it just doesn't sound like me in conversation as i have a carefully cultivated dumb hick/wildly creative artist image. big college word just don't fit into that somehow. or is that nowhere, nohow?

kudos (here we go again) on elsa's progress, btw. i dig the green and as said before it looks a lot like a 60's mopar green. i'm a mopar guy so... it's really boss.

Not much to say. I'll let the pics do the talking.
This piece of metal is going to hold the tip of my kerker up and be a license plate bracket.
After it gets ground down and shined up.

I forgot to take pics of the damage from the compressor, I used bondo and alot of elbow grease. It's far from perfect, but it'll work.

Scuffed, sanded and primed the gap cap to prep for paint.

Since I deleted my rear fender I had to......"WING IT" on the bolts to hold the inner fender up.

It's "custom"  ;) :D

How I take breaks, talking to you guys on my phone.

Painted cap first, so I could tape everything else off to paint the latch. this step had to be done 2 or three times because I kept overspraying one on the other.

Painted latch, allowed to dry, taped off with shop towels, sanded, primed overspray

Forgot to take pics of the tank done.... soo. You'll have to wait till tomorrow. hahaha.

But I have a different BETTER idea than just one flat stripe. Brian needs to mock me something on photoshop
