i didn't ...

i need to know how long you want it ...
and i havn't seen what the pivot looks like , was gonna go to mike's and check out his 750..
once i know how much shorter you want it , then i'll know where to put the spring holder.

i'll leave you to figure out how to coat it (paint?, powder coat?, pudding?, jello?)

i really hope i get a new camera for fathers day ... cuz the one on my phone REALLY sucks

We're not making a steering wheel marti.
It's a flippin kick stand.
Ok, Do I bolt this thing on or weld it on?
And how do I find out how long i need it? Like take it off the kickstand and lean it to where it should be and measure it like that?

that would work ... or just guess  ;D

i was thinking like 3/4" - 1" shorter would be enough
no need to over think it ya know, it's just a kick stand

Ok boys and goils.... It's been a while because I've been busy riding!
I get to ride generally a few miles a day, and slowly, little by little, my 33 year old barn bike is getting broken back in, and that means 30 year old parts that were frozen in time are starting to act like 30 year old parts.
...........
Ok. So I've been accumulating parts for the bike and such and doing some maintenance to start eliminating/replacing parts that are less than operational, weak, worn, leaky, etc.

Originally, I was going to do a cafe seat, but truly, I'm much happier with the different seat that I threw together than I thought. So, using the quick fab seat i made out of old seat foam, fabric and zip ties, it will kinda be an inspiration for something a little less tall, a little longer, and definitely sharper!
I will still be using my zebra upholstery as the main color and design, to kinda, bring the theme of the bike together, but I purchased some neoprene and some italian sheep leather as well. *evil mad scientist grin*

As with every other project on this bike, i have a rough idea of how i want it to look, and I will be measuring and sketching before I go through with actually building it, but, I think it's going to be way more badass then I could've imagined.
Pictures will be taken of my tac cable damage, temporary seat and wheel cleaning escapade, SOON!

I've been wondering what happened to this thread. I'm glad you've been getting some riding in :) I just got home and saw that my Caswell's tank liner arrived #$%* YEAH:)!!!! I really like the color you went with btw. I mentioned it before, but I had to do it again  ;)

My ass hurts just thinking about riding on the frame rails. Then again, after 2 hrs or more on my hog's seat, it feels like I am. Looking good, Ink!

You forgot something however....   LOL.

i wish marti was around to see my "custom" mods  :D
Mind you, these are all temporary and added for shock and hilarity value.
But yes, i do use it this way.
"Custom" license plate bracket

yes, Those are zip ties.
"Custom" running/tag light

Oh yea, that's electrical tape holding on a mini mag.
Custom made kickstand per spikey bike.

Close up

I need to bend it more... My bike is lower than he expected..

That red wire is an 8 gauge wire i use to strap my purse on the bike. ;D
