Yea, carb 2 is my stationary one. It cannot be adjusted as far as I know anyway.
(which I've proved I don't know much) :D

Yeah. You have to synch them all to match that one. That was fun to figure out by myself not knowing my ass from a hole in the ground about bikes. Didn't take too long though. Once I called Spanner anyway ;D

Ok, adjusted my lifters.
Checked slide operation, 4 was the only one a little diff, tweaked the little nut around, checked again, seem pretty much dead even. Used a marking on a screwdriver to check them , throttle released, all hitting the same point. Open, same levels..
Having air filter issues, boots on the box are... less than pristine. :D
Ok, got it running, first half a button push!
Noise has been cut down tremendously.
Read manual, adjusted cam chain tension according to book.
Got even quieter.
Stole front brake caliper off the the fork to the 70-71, sanded a bit, installed on elsa. Bled, and checked function. All smiles here. Works great and clears spokes.
Waiting on a filter fix... (phone call from a friend with parts)
Ran out of gas.
Soo, that's it for today. Not much for pictures, because..... it wouldn't make any difference. Ill take a video when I get the filter thing situated.
Thanks for the help boys!

No way. I've worked really hard. I'm not giving up that easily. Hey, I need to know if you're gonna ship that stuff or if you're waiting on payment, or or or or. I have ten days to get my bike on the road. It's not looking good with half my bike in Illinois.  :D :'(

Yesterday I got up early and went to the reptile convention to retrieve some critters.

Went to Long John Silvers (since sunday I eat whatever the #$%* I want to compensate for the week)
Got 1 fish 1 chicken and some "lobster bites" ate the chicken, 1 hushpuppy, and the lobster things
and got up to check on the new additions and the dog helped himself to my #$%*ing food.
Rule #1, don't ever mess with a women's food.
So, after beating the dogs little hiney, I decided to go out and do a couple of cosmetic things
to the bike.
Still haven't heard from my friend on the filter thing.
So, kghost was so kind to provide me with a new speedometer housing.
My old one

The new one

This is the caliper I stole to use on my bike.

When I had the wires unplugged from the bucket, I decided, well, I've already come this far,
I may as well make my headlight pretty too.

Sanded, cleaned with paint prep stuff, primed

Needs another coat.
Took my nasty grody chipped ring and hit it with the nylon wheel Before

After

Hmmmm.... This should be the same scheme as my bike....... ahhh yes.

I will be painting the ring black (same as the badges)
and I'm going to look at paint colors tonight. I figure the thing is ready for paint,
I should just do it.
I was gonna leave it primer, but then I'd have to clear it, and honestly, it's
almost as bad as having a white bike, I've had to sand and re-prime the
tank like 3 times cause of handprints. I don't wanna have to keep doing that.
So, If i cannot contact my friend by END OF DAY today I am just going to order
a filter set up and get moving.
I gave myself a deadline that is very reachable and for once, It's not my fault.
*cries*

you'll be poppin wheelies in no time!

the headlight idea is cool, I dunno about blacking the rind, It might start to get too monotonous. and look puzzled together. you don't want to get into that... gray on gray is good for the headlight.
