What's Your Favorite Metal/Hard Rock Band?
« on: March 04, 2009, 01:19:47 PM »
So this being a motorcycle forum there's gotta be some other metal fans on here.  I'd love to hear what others are into.
Unearth is one of my favorites, been listening to them ALOT lately.  Here's a video.

Ya know every time I turn around I hear something new and it shows how much of a sheltered life I have, or I work too much and have too many projects... Yeah I'd say its # 2 cause I am definatly not sheltered.
What you have is right up my alley, I usually goe for some pantera, or slipknot new and old, but I have been resorting back to some good ol' anthrax and slayer at least once a week. Flogging molly, old metallica and select new not much though.
Nine in Nails is a big one for me and Alice in Chains, Down, mad season, sevendust.

But don't get me wrong I like most music, blues are just as good to me as some good heavy stuff too, some buddy guy. Too many to list....One I haven't heard since like 89' I think is the dead milk men...Yeah good stuff
Oh can't forget Rollins, I have been on him this last week too.
Oh man Mother love bone, man theres just too many to list brother.

This is really tough.
In order to answer this one-hundred percent honestly.... I'll have to narrow it down.
When I'm going heavy heavy, it's gotta be Bloodbath or Aborted

If I'm going listenable stuff, Gojira or Behemoth.
Damn this is hard.

I'm not a Dragonball Z fan, but, I love this song.

no certain order:
Judas Priest
Black Sabbath
EARLY Metallica
Slayer
Pantera

lately I have developed a liking for Mercyful Fate and King Diamond, though I HATED them BITD, I was (and still am) a PUNK, but always seemed to date the metal girls. King Diamond was one of my old G/F's favorites, and all I could do was bash the theatrics and make up even though I grew up of KISS and Alice Cooper. I guess the Garage Days Revisited CD got me into them after all these years. I still think he/they are silly, but DAMN, they F'ing ROCKED.

The one metal band I will always hate is ManOwar..... had to sit through their shows 3 times with that X girl, and before they play they play like 45 minutes of freakin' Viking music.... I was punching long hairs before the stupid band even came on....
Thank god I mellowed some with age.

So, what exactly defines a "metal band, heavy or otherwise?"

A GHOF wants to know.

Oh yes, that music. Use to avoid it. No offense to those who enjoy it, but too much for my ears.

I wont even get into this as NONE of you know what metal is. Motorhead is lemmy and 2 other guys sounding like they are breaking their instruments. onec joey ramone died, lemmy became the worst bass player in the world and I only say that as joey called himself the worst.

there is more to metal than hard and fast. I mean if I wanted that, I could do OLD napalm death or old deicide or some lousy boltthrower.

If you want a good metal course, listen to some gamma ray with excelent dual axe attack and double kick drum that would melt death metal face. Add to that, there is actually A SONG being played.

That's the point.  It's supposed to sound like a motorcycle that needs a tune-up.
