A long time coming
« on: February 27, 2011, 11:18:51 PM »
Well, I have been waiting for a very long time and finally, after years of waiting, I have received partial payment from my Workman's Comp settlement. I have paid all my past due rents and late fees as well as most of the debt incurred during this long dry spell. Still have a few more debts to repay but things are finally looking up and getting them taken care of. I can't thank you guys enough for the support and confidence you have shared with me over the years. It feels so good to know that my debts are clearing up, these weights lifting from my shoulders finally.

This also means great news for Rita as well. I have already spoken to a supplier for the entire front end setup I need for the bike and will be ordering that this week. I will also be calling Cycle Exchange for the new jugs I need and as soon as I get all that in hand I can finally start the long awaited rebuild of my Rita. I can't wait to start working on her again, it'll be good to get some dirt under my nails as I go through and get everything all cleaned up again and ready for the final rebuild. Once I get it back into rolling chassis condition I will finally be able to set the new tank angle mounting and get the tins all sent off for painting. I expect her to be back on the road sometime in April or May, depending on how fast I get parts and how fast I can get everything installed.

I am still planning a move to Indiana but am waiting for final settlement which should happen in Late April so the move is tentatively scheduled for the end of May.

I am proud to be a member of this forum and am proud to call you my brothers and sisters. Thank you all and talk again soon,

Peace and Long Rides,

Jeff

Very nice.  Glad your bike wasn't one of the things you had to sacrifice to make ends meet.  I'd say welcome back but these boards are like the Hotel California.  You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!

Best news I've heard in quite awhile Jeff!!! Haven't heard from you for a long time. I figured you had already moved back east.Glad to hear they finally got on the ball and gave you your settlement. Also glad to hear you can finally get Rita back together. You must be doing better yourself if you can work on her. Take care dude and keep in touch.

Thanks all for the responses, sorry it's been a couple of weeks but life has kept me busy. My rent and utilities are now paid through May, about half my bills are paid off, Chase still hasn't gotten my Visa card to me though they assure me I will have it by Wednesday, and emergency root canal work on two teeth happened this last Thursday, lolol. There I was, innocently munching away on a burger when blammo!, I got a piece of bone or something and felt what I thought was one tooth crack. The X-ray showed that two teeth cracked so both needed work since the cracks exposed the nerves. Now, I have a bunch of stitches in my gum and a lot less pain.

Still planning on buying my parts as soon as I get my chase card but really looking forward to a purchase I decided on last week. I have been trying to find an exercise regimen that takes into account my back problems and found what I think will work for me. The Terratrike Rover is the only three wheeled bike that can handle my weight and since it is recumbent I will have plenty of support for my back. The only drawback is it costs $1,000 for the base model, but I just keep in mind that my health is worth the price. I hope that it will help me break through the weight plateau and finally start losing more weight and get myself strong again.

Once I start getting parts and can start working on Rita again I will be taking lots of pics to show my progress. Ultimately, I can't wait to unveil my bike here to all of you who have supported and helped me in my long road through recovery.

Back again soon,

Peace and Long Rides,

Jeff
