first you hit the youtube button and get this...
youtube=425,350][/youtube    except with another bracket on each end

then you take your URL and split it like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=    x_wLVCLPx0M&feature=related
and delete everything from Http to the = sign, and paste whats left between the two halves of the youtube "marker" (no spaces tho), and you get

[youtube=425,350]x_wLVCLPx0M&feature=related[/youtube]

Speaking of Seattle, here's a guy you should see,  Danny Godinez. He's got a few posts on YouTube and a website dannyband.com that I think is still up.  Got to be friends with him in Southeast Alaska on his tours up there. He was checking out an old faux-tiger striped harmony f-hole guitar I had, and asked if he could play it at the next gig in  Skagway.  It had a little fishman bridge pickup, and I wanted to hear what he could do with it, so I said heck yeah, and followed them up. He played it for the whole first set, sounded great to me, but  a slab guitar was better for the accoustics of the place.



Look him up.

Found this one of him on Jay Leno playing behind someone else. (He's the guy with the gretch that takes a lead at one point.


There are pics of him around on stage with Willie, maybe at the 4th of July picnic.

Here's some more of our local bums that became bonafide rock stars. I know Wayne from school. Wayne's brother Marty can be found at the CMRA races at Hallet.  I think he works at Performance Suzuki in Oklahoma City.

Their guitarist that quit  years ago was pretty darn good, not sure where he is now other than here on you tube.(don't miss the second closing song) There's another Letterman show with him on it.




The guy that replaced him, Steve Drozd, is a pretty good guitarist considering he was also their current drummer. Not sure how that works. Probably the closest  to being a trained musician of any of them. I like it.

I wouldn't call those 2 " guitarists that make you crap"....They are actually quite basic guitarists. You don't have to be a great guitarist to play in a band, you just have to play whats needed well.....which doesn't necessarily make you great....Just saying.... ;)

In my opinion those two have been responsible for shaping generations of music and they each stand alone as fantastic guitarists with unique styles that are hard to duplicate. There are some impressive guitarists in some of the newer bands but none of their songs have captured my attention. I couldn't give a #$%* about any of the shredders. I'll take some chicken picken' or some soulful blues over that crap any day.

How about Brent Mason?  Monte Montgomery?  Albert Lee?  Michael Campbell?

I saw Jeff Beck a few months ago at the Brady Theatre in Tulsa and at first I was disappointed that Tal wasn't there but he had a gal named Rhonda Smith with him and I have to say, she was fantastic. Helluva show!

You are aware that Ronnie and Keith both quite often tune to slide tunings like "G" so they only need one finger to play a chord, i like the Stones but never thought of them as inspirational, the Stones as a band is a different thing entirely, Guitarists like Steve Vai or even Jimmy Hendrix , Clapton and Gilmore are more inspirational IMHO, Jimmy started off a whole generation of guitarists that played with flair. Just because someone can shred doesn't mean that they should be stuck in a box as shredders only, Vai, Rhodes and many others were and are magnificent composers as well, being technical isn't a bad thing.... ;)

I've somehow managed to spend a lot of time learning how to play Keith's open G one finger method but so far it has taken me all of my fingers and I've had to step far outside my usual guitar "box".
If you're a shredder fan maybe you'll like this video. I've seen Monte a few times from just a few feet away and he's actually a good singer and songwriter as well.
