400 tail light interchangeability
« on: October 14, 2005, 06:45:27 PM »
Does anyone know if I can swap a British 400/4 tail light out for my big-ash American light? Or do I need to ask DSS?

Only if you get the light mounting as well as the bolt hole centres are different. It will fit, just, on the us mounting but you cant use the proper rubber mountings and collars

According to my US Honda ID bookthe 400 four has the four bolt rear light bracket same as UK. I do have a used UK rear light bracket about somewhere

OK, so if I put a UK bracket on my stock US fender, am I going to be drilling holes? Will I be leaving any holes uncovered? Bottom line- if I get a UK bracket and tail light, will it look OK, or will I be sorry I messed up a perfectly good fender?

I am with Bifta on that one, but if you want to play about I just aquired a NOS fibreglass replica 500 rear fender in black gelcoat. I'm fairly sure it would fit on a 400 and there are NO holes for a light bracket so you drill your own. If you want it $35 plus shipping
