Did some more work on her today...
My top triple clamp was snapped so I had to re-welded it & paint it. In doing so I also decided to repack my bearings. Glad I did as the grease was more like tar :(
I was able to get both wheels redone & balanced. They really turned out great for a rattle can! Sticking with the bobber/chopper budget theme everything painted on the bike has now been rattle canned  :)
I also decided to fin the top jugs but forgot to take pics. I hope to have a roller tomorrow along with pics :)

Thanks! I didn't feel like getting any of my Devilbiss guns out, mixing paint or cleaning up so it was an easy decision. Plus, my Rustoleum rep. told me how good their industrial line was so I wanted to try it out. I then made it my goal to go all Rustoleum spray bomb products :)

Got me a roller today!!!
Changed the fork oil, mounted the front wheels, bolted on a few other things then drove all over town trying to get a brake line made :( . Looks like I'll be ordering that one. Anybody know the cheapest place to get a lower line from the junction block to the caliper???
Anyway, I'm pretty excited how she is starting to look. More to come tomorrow... :)

I would have more but I am also designing & building a home audio amp (based on National Semiconductors LM3886 chips) & a set of speakers to match.
If I was going to build an audio amp, I'd build a tube based amp. There are lots of videos on youtube, and plenty of websites.
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

HEy Right on... you're on the Rustoleum eh!?... I don't have much experience with the Rust-O... but up here I'm all over the Tremclad! ahah  I painted a truck frame on a build I did..brushed on when I was 16... drove it for 3-4 years, summer and all salty winter, then she sat in the back yard in grass and muck for another 7 years.   Just had it towed to the Scrapperz a couple months ago...and when it was going up onto the truck....that frame was in full view and the most beautiful thing on the truck...no rust..and looking slick! haha....
I even painted 2 cars with Tremclad (they were cheap clunkers)...thru a good paint gun. The glossy one lost it's gloss after a year... but the flat black car kept it's good looks untill I put it in the derby!

Anyways! Cheers to the bike...I love the look!  Good job!

Thank you all very much for the compliments. It really means a lot!
Didn't get a lot done the past day as I had to finish up my Christmas shopping.
I did manage to polish & install the petcock & cap lock. It was a real M0+h3R #*%^*= getting that little pan head screw out. I replaced it with a nice S/S S.H.C.S. If anyone wants one I can get more. They are pretty cheap.
I also finished making my handle bars today. 29" SS drag bars with about a 5* sweep. They polished up real nice :)

Started working on the exhaust as well today. I had a 10' stick of SS pipe I got for $$$FREE$$$ so I am going to use that for the end pipes. It really is a bit too think & heavy but then again, the price was right... :) I cut the pipe down into 4, 30" workable sections then started to clean them up. You can see the original condition I started with at the bottom, then the next pipe after 120g sanding, then 240g, then the top pipe is done with #3 cut on the firm wheel followed by a final pass with #5 on the soft wheel. That is as far as I got today but you get the idea as to where I'm going with it.

Anyway, more to come later but for now I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!!!

Thanks guys :)

Did a little more today but not much as I had to work on the car today... :(
I mounted the light & controls to see how it looks & I think I am going to remove the mirrors. They look cool but might be a bit too flashy for this build. I took them off for the last 2 pics so LMK what you think.

Wow, that bike is looking great.  Makes me want to build some kind of bobber.  You might find those handlebars a bit uncomfortable especially in traffic when you are changing gears alot.  I had some on my 550 this last summer and after a few hours of riding my wrists would get sore from the weird angle.  Especially the left one from pulling the clutch.  Swapped them out to bars with a bit of a sweep back but still fairly flat.  Helped out alot.
Keep up the nice work!

Bike is looking good Chris... I like how the side covers came out! I agree on the removing the mirrors... They look out of place with the way the bike is turning out and are at a weird angle with the bars that you made.

Let me know when you plan on getting back into town.
