Call me childish, call me a dreamer but I saw The Great Escape when I was about 10 years old, and it is still my favourite. I've watched it about 15 times.
Having said that, when I get all big-headed and arrogant around the house, the missus puts the "Schindler's List" dvd on. That gives me a quick mega shot of humility almost instantly.

Well, Bert you beat me to it.  Sawshank is great.

Another fave of my is "To Kill a Mockingbird".  Great movie and still relevant, sorry to say.  Only problem is you have to suspend your disbelief that there once was an ethical lawyer ;-0

A lot of good movies, but  Blazing Saddles(uncut), The Maltese Falcon, early Clint Eastwood movies, Father Goose, and the first Star Wars are ones that get me to sit down and watch.

"Well, that one in the center: he had a flap holster and he was in no itchin' hurry. And the one second from the left: he had scared eyes, he wasn't gonna do nothin'. But that one on the far left: he had crazy eyes. Figured him to make the first move."

You google quotes from Josey Wales and its about the whole dang script.

All time fav.,Dustin Hoffman in "Little Big Man". 1st time I saw it made me ashamed to be white.
Peter Weller (and so many others) in "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai...".
One of the most quotable movies ever, "Repo Man". ex., "The more you drive, the less intelligent you are"
Since this is about favorites, and not best films made, I have to include Wise Blood, the original Animal House, The Day the Earth Stood Still and orig. War of the Worlds.
