Thought I'd post a picture of my bike
« on: October 16, 2005, 04:41:04 PM »
Here she is 76 550, I picked up from a friend, she's kinda been rescued, the first time I saw it, it had a fairing, hard bags, sissybar, crash bar, and other extra parts, that made her look like a little goldwing. She had all the factory paint that still looks good, and only 8,000 miles. I think this is the best $300 I've ever spent, just got around to taking the picture today so I thought I'd post it.

That's a nice bike mate, and I see it's got "lowering blocks" fitted on the rear shocks, I hope Linda see's this, she's been looking at how much they'll lower her 550. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

What's a lowering block and how can you see it in that teeny little picture?

What a great deal, only $300!!
Was it in running condition too?
I think rescue is probably a little too strong of a word, if all you had to do to make it look that good was to unbolt a bunch of crap accessories. You can put the stuff you took off on ebay and probably end up with the bike for free.  ;D

Well I used to be a forward scout mate, ha ha! The lowering blocks mount on your swingarm and move the shock lower mounting points further back, lowering the bike. I've got them on my CB750K1 as I'm running a 16" back wheel and the lowering blocks help get rid of the huge gap between tire and rear fender. Good if your legs are short and you only touch the road with your tippy-toes. Cheers, Terry. ;D
