carb rebuild kits

I have read lots of postings and FAQs but still need advice on carbureator rebuild kits.  My friend ordered carb kits from CarbKitCapital for his CX500.  Any recommendations and advice appreciated plus any to avoid.  Budget requires careful buying of any parts. Thanks all.
My bike is 1972 CB750.

I've used K&L carb kits for years, you're still looking at a hundred bucks for 4 and there is always the chance you'll need more parts.

Sometimes I think it is better to tear them apart and see what all you need, then when I do that I wish I had ordered kits up front -

I'll be interested in hearing what the more experienced members have to say, good question!

A quick look in the float bowls will tell you if a full rebuild kit is necessary. Just for the record I have NEVER got an aftermarket rebuild kit that had an exact match for the needle. In my opinion you are always better soaking and cleaning the stock needles and jets. They don't wear out. Sometimes all I use out of a rebuild kit is gaskets and the float needle and seat. Sometimes you do not need ANY parts just careful cleaning and soaking and blowing out passages. Just do a search on jet cleaning and you will know all you need. Dan

haven't seen aftermarket kits that contain all the o-rings.

haven't seen aftermarket kits that cost less than 'gasket sets' from Honda.

The parts that wear out the most,are the needle,needle jet,the float valve & float valve seat. Most carb kits do not contain the the needle jet,a matched set (needle,needle jet)
can make all the deference in the world compared to a rebuild with out the jet. I won't
buy ones that don't have the needle jet. These two assembles are the ones with moving parts,not to say that the gaskets and O rings can be overlooked! If a part moves it will wear!                                   Head
