I drug my new/old bike by a local shop on the way home. The owner wanted to see it. He was excited and said the wheels were "enhanced Lesters" I guess I don't know the difference. Anybody? Pictures soon, camera battery dead.

I have Lesters I bought back in the late 70's. If I remember right the ones you are referring were regular Lesters that the factory polished and I remember something different about the rim having some type of accent. Post some pictures. Dan

To me they look busier & heavier & a bit unfinished looking with the broken line. Think I saw an ad for them with that syle the other day..

Pictures coming, my kid had to go to work. She will help get them on line. mine look like the pictures, the recessed area is all the way around. And the spokes are fully black even on the edges. I still love the look. They are very nicely polished while the chrome on the bike needs a lot of attention. Thanks fishhead.

I can't figure out this photo thingy..I guess my pics are to large, but here is a link to my pics...First 2 are Morris, second 2 are Lester's first one is the more seen style, second is the less seen style with the broken up outer ring...each break in the outer ring is at the end of each spoke on the wheel....kevin

Now I see the pics.I have seen pics of them before.....don't recall if I have ever seen them in the flesh.While I like them OK.....if it came down to only being able to have one or the other....I would stick with spokes.

I was told that the broken ledge Lesters were more rare, and fetched a higher price. However, I am refering to Kawasaki triple rims, it might not be the same for cb's

Showed broken ledge, but dont think it said anything.. I think it is just a before or after a certain date thing..

Does not look any different from a rim for the 78-85 Yamaha XS650,750, or 850 Special. I have seen this Lester name before and never really understood what the big deal is. You can get Yamaha rims for $15-20.

Yeah, well show me a Yamaha 16in that takes a Honda 750 backing plate and sprocket, or one that takes H-D sprocket/brake... now that is the trick..

Just got back from the sohccave, and got some research in..

1975 Lester Wheel ad.. artist drawing of Beemer .unbroken line

1976 ads X 2 pictures, broken line.

I know there is at least one more as maybe around 80 I have seen with a mild custom swingarm H-D in it.

Lesters were bought about a year later. Motor and frame #'s K2, seat and hm300 exhaust
came stock on this one,left over from K1s

Are the spokes "natural" or are they painted silver? Mine are all black on the spokes but I like the silver look.

Mine were flat black spokes,the paint started to flake off after years of age,so I blasted them with low pressure and very fine grit. That was about 1982! Today there are many more
blasting mediums that won't eat the aluminum and just take off the paint. (walnut shells and such) Today I would ask around to find what works and what is available. I never got around
to repainting them, I agree they look good to me with a satin finish. If they get dirty/greasy
break clean clean them rite up in no time at all. Head
