alright,

got some things done.
I stripped the remainder of the black paint off the motor, and repainted the top end with some hi-temp black.

I'll paint the case after curing the black.

I got it in! just took a set of jack stands an old chair cushion, and a bike jack.

look at this- I'm so strong!

OH MY GOD! this valve was a little out of adjustment.

I'll post a video in a few minutes.

the chain doesn't line up with the k1 sprocket by a little bit.
does anyone have a K8 sprocket carrier?

Be sure to get the axle too. The wider sprocket carrier requires a longer axle. The F3 axle I have will not completely tighten the K2 sprocket carrier I switched to when I installed the K2 engine. I suspect your K1 axle will be too short.

got this chain, and an 81 brake linkage on ebay.

heres the bike so far.

hopefully it's not burning oil...
I added about one "gloop" of marvel mystery oil to each cylinder 3 days before I put the motor in.
I've been starting and warming it up for the last two days now, and It still seems to blow white smoke, not so much blue like motor oil.
but it might be...

its not burning any oil, it was just Marvel,
I adjusted the valves and I'm just waiting on parts...
and i need some fuel lines and overflow lines they're rock solid.

strangely enough, after locking everything down the chain alignment was perfect.

OK, after riding about a mile.... the chain didn't line up.
so I added a K8 sprocket carrier, removed the round chain catch thing, and the chain side spacer.

installed. Boy, those bolts almost touch.
