I have PD 41s with accel pumps. It had the accel pump squirters plugged or diminished. I felt it might be too easy to damage those posts, for which I have no source of replacements.
I did not remove the posts. I made four small reservoirs out of various diameters of stacked tubbing. I then plugged the pump outlet hole (squirter jet in-feed) with (something).
Filled the reservoirs and the tube/rail to the posts with canned carb cleaner. Came back in two hours and used the aerosol canned pressure to back blow (using layer tubing) from each of the post outlets toward the pump outlet at the carb body first, and then from the in-feed to watch for squirter exit, each in turn, with the other three plugged with some tubing.
I installed the accel pump on the bowl, filled it with gas and installed it onto the carb bank (held in a bench vise). After the pump primed and the tube rails filled with gas, I had all the posts squirting the same volume.
Warning. I wear glasses. Which kept carb cleaner out of my eyes while fitting up tubing to pressurize the passages. (sometimes the tubing blew off under aerosol can pressure, with random directionality.) Note: eyes are ALWAYS in the random direction to damaging chemicals.
I like glasses better than eye patches, 'cept on Halloween when my timbers shiver.
Cheers,
