Couldn't Resist A NINTYNINE CENT! Suprt Hawk Gas Tank!
« on: March 18, 2009, 11:41:58 AM »

Well, $0.99 & $15 shipping. :o I mean the tank is in pretty good shape, has a little (surface) rust (barely) inside. And it has 2 small dents and one would be UNDER one of the side panels that bolt onto the tank. The other dent is on the top and I don't see a problem. Got the tank today and except for the 2 small dents, is in better shape than the one I already had. Nobody else even bid on it.

Here is  that gas tank. I had a bit of trouble with my pc before. This shot makes the dent in the side look worse than it is.

Here is another shot (and these photos are from the ebay listing)

I'm going to see about straightening it the best I can. The main part I am concerned about is the dent on the top. But, the tank is pretty solid and only has some surface rust inside, which will easily clean up. :D

Thanks fuzzy, that's what I was thinking. When I first saw the listing, U have to say that I didn't think much about it. And then, I got to thinking about needing another tank and thought I'd go back and look closer. Then, I started thinking that, with the chrome panels in place, the dent on the side would be covered anyway. 8) And that would leave only the one on top to deal with and it DID seem to be pretty solid and all. Apparently other folks were scared off by the look of the thing. :D

Thank you Bill. Oh yes, I definitely have plans for that tank.  ;) Between the "remnants" of a Super Hawk that I already had AND what I picked up from "okie", I've got some plans alright. I need to pick up some misc things, get my mind made up exactly how I'm going to go with this and go for it! Bad thing is, I can't post any photos until I get my pc/printer situation taken care of. :(  (hope to remedy THAT soon)

Got my eye on a pair of those chrome tank panels AND the rubber knee pads also. Wish me luck! ;)
