Not much needed to get this '73 350F on the road
« on: March 17, 2009, 01:31:25 PM »
Picked this 350F up for $1k last year, and have been tinkering ever since.  It basically needed a good scrubbing, battery, carb cleaning, and new rubber.  Still had the original bridgestone  supersports on it from '73.

For the fun of it, I had speedracer741 resurface and drill the front rotor.  While that was being done, i repainted the front caliper and added new pads.

Bike history:
Sorry for the bad picture, but its the best i could do.
This was taken in Seattle ~1975.
There are 9 white CB350F's, with fairings and hard cases.
All were painted ivory/white. I have the fairing, and the highway bars, but not the hard cases.
These were the Parade bikes used by the NILE SHRINERS
Its difficult to see, but the wording across the fairing says "SMILE with NILE"
My CB350F, with its original owner, who has since passed, is front right.
I bought it from his daughter (my boss).

what brake pads did you buy and how pleased are you with them? I bought a set of honda pads (with stock solid rotor) and they sqealed like non other. I tried a bunch of different things but nothing would stop the sqeal, so I put the old pads on and have been sqeal free since.

I got the EBC's, and no squeal with the drilled/resurfaced rotor.   I like them so far.

I heard that drilling a rotor is the best way to stop the squeal. Unfortunately I'm not interested in that look on my bike :-[
