K8 wiring question
« on: March 18, 2009, 08:20:13 PM »
So I switched my handlebars yesterday, and now my headlight and brake light won't come on. I looked at the starter button switch and noticed that the black wire came out of where it was soldered to the starter button assembly. Is this causing my headlight and taillight/brake light not to work? My turn signals still work and no fuses are blown.

The headlight wire passes thru the starter button so that as you press for starter motor the headlight turns OFF ( to ease the load on the battery )...release the button and h/l is restored..so your Q...yes black wire feeds headlight...bet your starter wont work without it too !!
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,
