When will Cabin Fever season be officially over?
« on: March 20, 2009, 01:44:06 AM »
Will civility come back to the forums then?

Am I too sensitive?   Or, is the cafe/ bobber crowd entitled to call my stock bike ugly, just to be mean.

And, does this action give me license to hurl unsolicited derogatory remarks at whatever hacks, mods, or perturbations made on bikes by other posters on the forum?

I think about these things, sometimes....

No. The site at one time was primarily made up of a smaller group of individuals primarily interested in talking about sohc motorcycles. Today the demographic includes the vocal self-absorbed myspace crowd whose annoying conviction that every personal thought and feeling  is worthy of documention for our benefit. The modification of their sohcs, or whatever, into their own image naturally follows. It's those bratty kids, I tell you.
So yes, it is perfectly fine to hurl unsolicited derogatory remarks at this group.
Spring is not here yet. ;D

If so, you should be happy that millions of original owners preferred ugly.

And, if it *is* intrinsically ugly.  Then the cafe/bobber/chopper crowd is simply trying to hide or distract the intrinsic ugliness that is inherent in their bikes.

What's the saying; Beauty is skin deep, but ugly goes to the bone.

Maybe that's the way to go.  Every cafe/bobber/chopper presented, should be met with observations about bits of bike that still look just like a stocker.  If just one part if can be identified as a stock component, IT"S UGLY!

 ;D ;D

I guess I shouldn't ask how your cabin is doing then, you old codger.

 ;D ;D

Seems fair, though.  If the young kids are going to blame the old gen, seems fair the old gen can blame the young ones.  That way, there is plenty blame to go around without depriving anyone.

Cheers,  ;D ;D

TT,

Can you post a picture of you and your bike so the underappreciative bunch can gawk in appreciation?

If I had something that was unreasonable to return to like new stock condition then I'd probably chop it up cheap too  ;)  or part it out. Maybe you and I should pick up a $200'er and chop tha #$%* outta it just to see how much fun we are actually missing. I figure that cutting up $200 wouldn't hurt a bit. Hell one of my sidecovers cost more than that. My stainless bolt set will cost more than that.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Now THAT's an idea.  Post me with my bike simply to show the stark contrast between ugly and gorgeous.  Then they'd HAVE stop calling stock bikes ugly. ;D
