Does anyone have good photos of a CB450 & CL360 front drum installed on a bike ?

I have what I was told was a drum from a CB450.  New CB450 brake shoes & bearings fit the hub etc.
But.....the marks on the brake arm and brake pivot ? do not line up properly.  After scouring parts fiches etc - it would appear that I may have the linkages from a CL360
That would make sense, because the drum I received looked as if it was stored at the bottom of a lake, but the linkages cleaned up very nicely.  So I'm thinking that they just threw it together to get me what I need.





Some more questions:

1.  Does anyone know if the drum circumerence is bigger/smaller  CB450 vs CL360 ?
2.  Can the linkage that I have be made to work ?  You can see in the pics that the alignment marks would not line up.
3.  Can anyone point me in the right direction to set these up ?    Angles etc.

I'm sooo close to firing this up i can taste it.    Please help

Looks a lot like a rear drum to me.. does it have wide shoes..

It's definitely a front.  Shoes are 1 3/16" wide

What threw me off on the drum, was the seperate pivots on the shoes (like a 750 rear). I dont think the early 350,s had that.

And also there seems to be no speedo drive?

 At any rate, pretty sure the linkage is not from that backing plate.

After sitting in front of this computer all day instead of working on this, I think that the hub/plate is from a CB450 black bomber or a CL450 ??  The linkages appear to be from a CL360, which is a bit smaller diameter / Can't confirm - still working on it.    I'm thinking maybe (since the linkages are damn pretty) I could figure out a way to make a longer rod between the arms ??   Nothing on ebay as of now

It has a speedo drive, that's very similar to my 750 on the right hand side of the hub

The strap that holds it to the fork (to keep from rotating) looks like some I've seen on CB450 black bombers

Starting to sound like an earlier style (not sure of the Bomber), but try viewing pics of CB160 and CB72 or CB77.

I know the 160 had a back bracke with cable  ... not sure what brake arm they used.

        I'm with 754, that looks to be a rear brake plate. If it's a front, where does the speedo cable go? I have the CB & CL450, SL350, CB & CL 72 &77 parts and, as soon as I can, I'll give a look and see if it looks like any one of those. Just got back in and had to sorta modify this, as you can see. It does appear that this is indeed an early CB450 or a CL450 brake plate. I had forgotten that the speedo drive was on the OTHER side of the wheel and also, the brake plate retaining bar mount comes a bit off of the main part of the plate (for more leverage).

I have a restored CL360 in the shop and can confirm for you that the brake panel in your photo is not the correct piece for this model.  The linkage, however, does to be the same setup used on the CL360.

If the rod is long enough you can ignore the dots and use the linkage

The rod doesn't seem long enough (insert joke here) and to make matters worse, I snapped it when trying to remove it.

I'd like to try and find a longer rod and use the linkages that I have since they are in such great shape.

Anybody know what postion the arms would need to be in for best operation ?

they should be parallel when first installed then fine adjusted so both shoes hit drum at same time.
