theres some new shocks on ebay that i was wondering if any one has tried yet. Im not sure but they look a little cheap. They have the clevis for mounting to a CB and look like a performance shock.

I hope the link works if not just look up cafe shock and they should pop up. theres actually a couple of dealers with them, one is in france and the other is in the philippines.

I bought them early this week and they are on their way to me. Made in China, which I don't like, at least I'm almost sure but they look quality and the feedback is great on them on ebay. I'll let you know. Someone else here has them installed already, I forget who.

yah im wondering if they are rebuildable but i would think it would say if they were.

Look at this pic, you can see the retaining ring for the endcap of the cylinder. looks like it'd come out with a pin spanner.

Is there no oil at all in them only nitrogen? Where would you get nitrogen to fill with? Dan

I just bought a set of these as well. They look and feel well built and look serviceable as well. Yes they have oil in them, but they also have nitrogen in them which makes them adjustable for both rebound and damping.

I installed a set of them recently Have not ridden on them though. You will need to modify the upper bushing as they dont fit the way they come. Nitrogen can be picked up from refrigeration repair guys. These can also use air, believe its 2bar. Painted mine black.

There are some tire shops that will fill tires with nitrogen (for a fee). I wouldn't use air because of the other things that are also airborne, like moisture.

I recall reading about someone's experience with these. IIRC, the bottom bracket is weak and easily broken, the poster made a replacement. It was mentioned that they are not suitable for bigger bikes such as the V-Max despite it's being in the listing. I don't recall if it was mentioned as to being rebuildable or not. After having read this fairly thorough account I came away with the impression that they are worth the money if one wants cool looking shocks. They are not worth the money if one wants a good performing shock.

An Air Compressor breathes the same air we breathe, so if you use air, you will get 78% nitrogen anyway. The intake on a compressor usually has a filter, and a moisture separator can be added to a compressor pretty cheap, and easy. Tire shops have a bit of a scam going, selling people "Nitrogen" for their tires. I doubt if 21% oxygen would pose a negative effect on a pair of shocks.
