I damn near have enough NOS and new parts to build a new bike or two. I'd still like a couple more parts (ask me and I'll let you know what I STILL need) but I'll never give up looking for those few elusive items. I've begged and groveled here without luck. I have spent a small fortune on the best engine parts a man can buy for a 750. I'll probably have to start soon as I've run out of excuses and most of the necessary cash has been invested. I have my garage and basement cleaned up and all the parts sorted out by pages in the Honda Parts Catalogue.

Soooooooooooooooo....................

I have 2 thoughts.

Should I.......................

1) Do a build thread with pictures and narrations but lock it to keep in on track and have a separate thread for discussions

OR

2) Do a combined thread with pictures and discussions from the group

Please keep in mind that this project will probably be a protracted issue rather than a short term project as I've been collecting parts and spending hard earned cash for 3 years already and I'm obviously not in a hurry. Just want to do it right one final time.

My inclination is to start the project, collect pictures along the way, and when I see light at the end of the tunnel then start posting but lock it once I finally begin.

Where's that damned poll thingy??

I've done pretty much what you are preparing to do with my 550. I'd go for the combined post; it's proven very helpful for me to be able to discuss problems with the bike right there and then. Here's my thread:

I think you should go away.... and send me all the parts  ;D

Seriously, I love build threads that you can post questions on, but there is also something to be said for a thread thats all fact. Why don't you do a build thread where we can comment, and then once you are done, you can do a thread that is just your info. This way you get the best of both worlds and we can tease you as you go along  :)

I say post as you go and leave it open for discussion. You never know when you might be going down a road that has a dead end that another member has been down before. Might save a headache or two, you know?
