bottom case covers of front suspension

I'm trying to remove oils seals ('72 350four). How is the bottom case cover removed? I can find nothing specific on the topic. Please help

There's an allen bolt in the bottom of the front fork outer.
Remove it and the tube should pull right out.
The manual has a pretty clear explanation.....

this is what i mean. I'm changing oil seals... i think this needs to be removed. What is the technique?

No its original... 1972 350four.
The oil seal is in there at the intersection of the alum and chrome.
The manual just says remove. To replace seal... No explaination how. - doesn't look simple...must be a trick or technique.
Can't seperate them can't change seal

sorry, just looked at a photo of a 350 and see it's a cover. can you turn it, might just be held by an O ring and pop off.

I may have to PM Matt... This one has me stumpped. I've tried turning it and took out the c rng inside. There looks to be a slot to pry the thing off but it doesn't move for me.
??.

I see what you mean now -
It's just stuck, that's all.
Keep at it, eventually you'll get it off.
Very similar to what's on a CB200 twin - thought I'd never get them off.
It took a bit of tapping with a screwdriver and hammer, after a good soak with PB Blaster.

Like I said, they look identical to a CB200, and I have done them (just a few months ago).
Honestly it's been so long since I did a 350-four that I don't remember - but there's no reason to suspect they're any different or special, honda pretty much stuck to the same stuff in that era.
To install, they slide down, and then a twist to lock them in place.
They come off just the opposite.
They're probably just corroded a bit and need some "convincing".
It's not unusual when you have two differnt metals in contact, then throw in 35+ years to the mix.
You might try a "band" or strap wrench for that initial twist- that won't mess them up.

Stretching my memory I think CB350 twins may have had the same arrangement?  It was a slight turn to unlock a tab on the inside of the cover, that fits into an "L" shaped groove in the fork.  Sorta like a bayonet style light bulb.

I became concerned when it wouldn't budge and do not wantto harm the finish. Knowing it locks wyth a turn helps

Yeah, a lot of models used that arrangement, including the 350's - not unique at all.
They will come off, you may have to get tough with them, as they've been on there a loooong time.

I got them off... Thanks guys.
Its a "friction fit" no turn needed just gentle persuasion up under that tab with a blabe screwdrive and gentle taps with hammer. Took lots of PB and time but came off.
