Dumb bikers?
« on: March 23, 2009, 02:57:51 PM »
What's the dumbest or most dangerous thing you've seen someone do on two wheels?
Saturday afternoon Me and my wife were on our way home from Pennsylvania on I70 in West Virginia.we were travelling with traffic at around 80MPh when a guy on fancy new rocket came out behind us from an onramp on his back wheel. He passed us on his back wheel and about lost it so he slams his brakes and left a good skidmark. No big deal, just playin around and scared himself, right? No. He jumps back on his wheelie passing another 4 or 5 cars on the far left side of the road beyond the hammer lane about losing it again leaving another 20ft or so of skids from locking his back wheel. He jumped off at the next exit. :) I could just imagine what would have happened if he would lost it. He was movin well over 100 when he was passing those other cars. All I can say is OMG. Some people have no sense of self preservation not to mention no respect for others.

5 of them all doing that together... :o

Sadly, it's the 1%'s that give the rest of us a bad name.  >:(

I was on my scooter once and a bunch of 1%ers passed me and laughed at me.  I can't remember which gang they were, but there was about 15 of them.  If I was allowed by law to go over 30 mph on my scooter (and if it could go over 45) I would have caught up to them and dished out a major ass-whippin'.

They don't realize how close they came....

The dumbest bikers I encounter are the ones who don't look over their shoulder when getting into position to split lanes on the freeway. Many times have I slammed the brakes for a biker who is not looking for other bikers. It sucks that even some of our own kind have their heads up their asses.  >:(

YOU ON YOUR BRAND NEW ADVENTURE TOURER THAT STILL HAD A TEMPORARY PLATE DECIDES THAT YOUR JUST GOING TO PULL STRAIGHT OUT OF YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD ONTO THE MAIN ROAD WITHOUT STOPPING OR EVEN LOOKING. YOU CAME OUT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, I MISSED YOU BY INCHES. YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO ALMOST GET HIT BY ANOTHER BIKE AT 3 AM?? THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN SIGHT, THEY SERIOUSLY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU SOME SORT OF REWARD FOR MANAGING THAT ONE. I ALMOST FORGOT TO THANK YOU FOR SPEEDING OFF RIGHT AFTER.

I am not sure who was luckier your scooter can only go 30. 15 to one is pretty high odds, my Glock only has 14 rounds.   ;D

I think I did the dumbest thing.
Got off work at midnight and was rolling home on a desserted street when a light appears behind me. It stays there for a long time, and I think, "I wonder if that's a cop?"  A half mile more and I think, "Well, let's find out" and I gassed it.

It was a cop.

Last summer i watched a guy on a crotchrocket with his girfriend on the back. Theyre were two bikes on a three lane divided highway. August tourist season here on Hilton Head Island. Mid sat afternoon with lots of tourists coming to the island. One went first between the cars fast on a slight turn. The guy with the girl went next between moving traffic in a slight turn on ONE wheel. She basically had no clothes on, then i watched them dissappear through a red/pink light at unknown speed onto the island. I was stunned.

I have seen far too much of what has been stated here. Its actually one of the reasons for the thread about leaving the group i rode with. Classic example of LSR stupidity....Both Leaders have CBR 600 RRs from this point i will refer to them as Blackie and Pinkie due to the bikes color (and avoiding real names for the moment). Blackie has a bad habbit of rolling up right behind a car and slamming on the brakes to do a stoppie inches inches from the cars rear bumper. Along with constantly doing wheelies down the main drag. Pinkie is bad for just doing wheelies and occasionally riding on his tank rather then on the seat of the bike. Now heres a bad image for you guys...Blackie is probably close to 400-450 lbs...this is a big guy on a bike designed for at max a 250 lb rider. I imagine that bike will probably be scrap soon....same as his previous CBR 600 RR. Destroyed by some stunt or another.

I was standing outside my old shop and heard a racket from the road. Looked over to the road and saw 2 newer sportbikes skidding past the shop and through the intersection infront of my shop. 600 feet of skid marks through the intersection.

http://www.geocities.com/fischervintagecycle/SkiddingIdiots.html

When it was all over, the 2 bikers met up with the other people they were riding with at the gas station next to the shop and I walked over to tell them how lucky they were. The first thing I heard was one of their buddies saying " I told you guys not to race on these unknown country roads".
The 2 riders said that they were going about 160 when the crested the small hill before the stop sign. They laughed it off.
On average there was 2-3 accidents at that intersection a month. Some were really bad and this one could have been really ugly, but they were very lucky that day. The intersection now has a traffic light.
Even though these 2 guys were driving like idiots, I was impressed by them not loosing it (1- their life, 2- dropping it). On the other side of the the road they went in the grass, through a ditch and jumped a curb but didnt drop it.

Nice tag line you got there fishhead. Shows what kind of person you are? You call him an idiot but I am sure you are not always a genius yourself. Apparently he wasn't allowed to have his opinion while everyone else, including you, could?

Coming in just recently and going through a lot of old posts, he was no worse than any of you are and not as bad as a couple are.

Well whatever I guess. Maybe some here need to step back and take a look at themselves? But I suppose it is easier to attack others, especially after they have left?

I am sure I will catch flak but I am merely making an observation and anyone dumping on me is probably in defensive mode.

Maybe you all need to go have an Irish car bomb? Jameson whiskey, Baileys, and drop in a shot of guinness. Chug fast!

No worse than any of us?? WTF is that about? Oh I can't defend myself, then I would be in "defensive mode". You are right, I need to step back and look at myself while drinking excessively. Good post man

'round town here, we have a lot of scooter riders with this much skill out on the road and in traffic:

I don't have tons of skill or wouldn't even consider myself a great rider but... please, people, just because you CAN ride it in traffic without an endorsement doesn't mean you SHOULD.  (oh, and do a couple laps in a parking lot, at least, eh?)

Well slayer, how long have you been around? Maybe you have seen back a couple of years? I went back a few months. From what I saw, his were no worse than anyone elses. So maybe he insulted a persons music, big deal. I am sure someone is insulting someone's choice in something right now. It went both ways. now maybe I didnt read every single post out there but who has? I just made my opinion based on what I read.
Maybe people here need to do some lightening up around here? Never knew a situation that was better with everyone stressed out.

I'm just sayin here. Maybe people are taking things too seriously. Yes I know jobs are shaky and economy is crumbling but don't we come here to leave that behind if just for a little bit? I am saying EVERYONE should chill a little, even eldar if he were still here.

I am not trolling gordon. I have made a few tech posts. However I did derail this thread. I merely stated what I thought, currently the US has not outlawed that yet. I just figure people need to lighten up some, and yes even the bunched up panty eldar guy! Jeez we are on a motorcycle forum, not a goofy PETA or Flat earther forum!

I digress though, I see dumb bikers all the time. They are the ones wearing no helmets or any gear. Now what everyone seems to be talking about is F*cking STUPID bikers. Like the one I saw standing on his seat going down the road. I would not do that on the best roads but around here, with out potholes, hell some are big enough to LOSE your bike in!
