1979 cb650 front fork rebuild

i need to know what to look for in fork tubes thats all i need to know where to find some like e-bay or here or if the cb750 fork tubes will fit my bike i am not getting any rebound on the front suspension only compression and need new fork tubes so if anyone has info on the parts im looking for please let me know

check out the parts fiche on your bike.  I think the rebound is governed by a pair of thick springs at the bottom of the fork tubes, and compression is governed by oil?  very strange.

i dont know what is causing the suspension to go down but not come back up i know that my fork tubes need to be replaced i just need to know where i can find a place that carrys them

Might I suggest you bleed out the old fork oil and replace with some new, just incase that is the problem.
It would be way cheaper.
I'm quite interested as I have the same model 650 which is leaking a bit of fluid down the forks and so it will soon be time for fork seals.
If you do change out your forks, could you do a build thread on it for us other 650 owners, it helps a great deal when we can see the problems/solutions you ran into.....cheers.........Hush.

i have to replace th tubes they are damaged but in small spots enough to tear the fork seals i need to know where to find some new or maybe  used fork tubes for a 1979 cb650

Oh sorry I was thinking the internal tubes that go inside the springs, yes I see your problem, a few here in NZ looking for fork tubes too, must be something that if not looked after over the years degrades quite quickly.
Best of luck in your hunt, you have more chance of scoring some in USA, I had to get my 79 exhaust set from Texas so I know the problem.
Try contacting Soos on here, he usually has some of the strange bits for 650's.

ok guys got the new forks in now i gotta know how would i fix some bubbling chrome

1. just remove the chrome and re-do

2. any other suggestions?
