I am glad that at least some people are able to overcome the bystander effect during situations like these  :(

Ecosse,

I love my daughter and I think kids are seriously important. I really did nothing but get outragged and then attacked. If anyone would see something like that and stand by and do nothing I would completely loose all faith in humanity. Everyone standing around IMMEADITLY started calling the cops. I just did what I thought was right man. I appreciate your kind words, but I really don't feel good about it.

I agree this is no cause for celebration, and I know what it's like to come out of a fight feeling spiritually diminished, no matter how just the cause. It's just that there are many who do nothing for a lack of compassion, selfishness, or fear of legal retribution. Regardless, it's these things that cause a society to collapse IMO. Actions taken by you and the others need to be acknowledged every bit as much as the ugly stuff. Maybe more.

This is only one child among scores who are treated this way, but as each life is precious, this clearly counts for something. The power of just one act of caring for another human being (or animal) is not to be dismissed.

Also, the way I see it, she undoubtedly has a better chance for a happy life than the moment before she passed through your life. I suppose my cheering was because this POS got a taste of what he dished out.

the guy would have had to have surgery to remove my size 12eeee boot from his ass

I'd have to tie my laces through his nose after inserting my 13 D's up his arse.

IMO that was the right thing for you to do.
It's sad to know people can do that at times and NOT have their children taken away.

And just to let you know beating your children can have it's backfires.

Blew up my step-dads car(with him in it) once.
Too bad he lived.
He beat the hell outta me.
Sadly enough it took him hitting my sis(in front of my mom) for her to realize it wasn't a good relationship.

Actually surprised I have never been in prison for some of the things I have done "getting even" with some of the people in my life before I was 18.
I have since learned to temper my responses.... but hitting a child is not excusable in any way.

i believe in a good swat on the rear if the child didn't listen the first two times
told my kids who are adults now that kids need positive feeedback too
a pat opn the head or a good hug are always in order

i'm in favor of spanking, when neede. not too hard or too long. hell when i was a kid, didnt matter where we were if i misbevaved i could count on a swat on the backside, likely one of the reasons that todays youth have no respect for others. that said, what this pencil d*$k did to that little girl needs to be shot. theres a line that when crossed goes from disciline and abuse.
