Interesting video...
I was surprised there were no harleys!

It's amazing how much power is available on a new bike today compared to in '74.(the year I was born surprisingly)

I still don't get why mocos are SO afraid of putting out nice little 250-500cc bikes.  You just don't see 'em unless they're dirt bikes. :-/

Totally agree.  Buddy wants to buy newer, but wants nothing to do with a 'heavy' bike as he weighs in at 150 and has back problems.  He's on a Yamaha single thumper from the 70's now, and really wants just a little more.

The lack of sub-1000cc cruisers amazes me too.

yup.  Trying to buy a Rebel, people charge crazy amounts because there are so FEW smaller bikes out there.  If you want small, you're limited to rebels and dirt bikes.  Sure Suzuki Savages are light, wimpy 650s but their carburetion is horrible, too.

Up until this year Kawasaki made a 500cc Vulcan Cruiser.

Same engine that was in the 500cc ninja. Lots of hop up parts available for that motor compated to the Savage or Rebel.

somehow, a bike that thrives on high RPMs just doesn't say "cruiser" to me, though...

That's just it. They weren't god awful high RPM bikes like the 250 ninja's are. And with the right exhaust, you'd never know it was screaming along at 120mph.

Can you tell I used to be a Kawasaki tech? lol.  :-[

I'm told by a good source from a close personal friend that the music was by Iron Butterfly, before a groupie introduced them to LSD.

That 'soundtrack' would be their '70's ad campaign 'Let The Good Times Roll'............. :)

Anyone other than me remember that? :-[ :-[

Let the good times roll has been the slogan for more than 20 years. That's either sad that they couldn't come up with anything better or good that someone decided to stick with something longer than a month or two.

Now if only McD's will get rid of I'm lovin it...... I want to stab everytime I hear that.
