Attaching myself to this thread.  Gotta keep up with it.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I just copied and pasted that "tracking number" into UPS's website, and it was a package that was delivered within Phoenix on 4/23/09....Phoenix, huh?  Interesting thing is the package started in OK city.

If something like this came my way, I don't know if I'd try cashing that check.  If I'm not mistaken, any cash that I recieve after cashing a bad check, I'm liable for.  In other words, the bank is holding ME responsible for making good on a bounced check.

precisely... the best thing to do (if you are unsure) is call that bank.
i did it once because it was not as scammy as some others... the bank had no record and they informed me that i would be the liable party if i did try to cash it.

Deposit the check into your account, and don't touch the money.  The bank will take it out when the check bounces.

I am not too worried about depositing the check, nothing will happen if I don't take the money out but I dont want to get involved that far.

I am going to Email him and tell him that I just happen to be in that exact area since I am traveling for work (at the local FBI office maybe) and that I will just swing by and pick it up.  ;D
