aftermarket coils.........

Anyone know if two of these coils would work on my 73cb500k1. im kind of a moron with electrical systems so any help would be appreciated....http://www.jcwhitney.com/IGNITION-COILS/GP_2005149_N_111+10211+600014397_10111.jcw

I'm no 500 expert....

Those coils might work.....but you'd have fitment issues under the stock tank.

Additionally you'd have to wire them in and who knows what the draw would be on the electrical system or what the spark output would be.....

I suppose if you had a compelling reason you wanted them you could make them work.

Otherwise I believe I'd just order a set of Dyna or Accel. Better yet OEM.

At the price thier not far off proper coil's when you figure you need two of them. (the twin cylinder ones)

Gotcha. Just lookin for a setup in which the wires arent permenantly attached to the coils. The weather in pa here is murder on any kind of wiring....

I dunno about the weather in PA...I've been there few times...but never lived there.

I have a hard time imagining its any worse or different then a few other places.

Keep in mind theres lots of coils without removable wires that have been running 30+ years.....

Mainly its connections that cause problems...sounds like you want to increase the number of connections.

Any connection/joint will corrode....

There is a couple theads/post on how to replace the wires in stock coils.

I just bought a set of Dyna coils and wires from Z-1.  I have installed them but I am yet to run them.
