hello, my name is Mark and i just picked up a not running 72 cb500. Im gonna need some help with this item. I think this is the right place, ive been lurking a few days now and you guys seem to know your stuff. im pretty excited about getting this thing running.

this will be my first street bike, ive been riding offroad for a number of years now. i own a ktm 200exc for offroad.

Yes this is the right place for great information.
We have a lot in common, I also have a non running CB 500-4 (it was free!) and it is my 1st street bike too. It's good to see another dirtbiker here, I ride a 98 YZ125, brrraaaappp!
 You may find the CB to be a bit overwhelming (I certainly did) to rebuild, so many parts compared to a single cylinder 2 smoker but they are fairly easy to work on. Good luck on your build. If I can be of any help just ask, I recently finished my CB motor rebuild but I'm putting the rest of the restoration off for a little while so that I can get my YZ ready for spring.
