God, what a sad day. That old K2 was as shiny as a pin when Les came to pick it up. He parked his ute and bike trailer at the front gate and I kicked the old girl over in the workshop. Damn - what a sound. And my wife reckons Les was pi55ing himself in anticipation of loading the bike on board and getting home. He wouldn't even stay for a cuppa despite a 4-1/2 hours drive. Didn't even want to ride it. It was enough for him to see and hear it ride out of the shed, up to the gate and onto the trailer. He reckoned he was going to drive a lot slower going home because he would be looking in the rearview mirrors at the bike more than he would be looking at the road ahead. I know she's gone to a good home. Les is only a couple of years younger than me but he had that "I've wanted one of these things for 30 years" glint in both eyes. Keep your eyes out for him. He's aware of the site and no doubt will come up some day to show off his trophy. Gotta stop now, I'm very sad. Having said that, I bought the bike with the intention of restoring it (and I did) and selling it on to another SOHC4 fan (and I did that too.) Now it's time to enjoy my retirement present that I bought for myself - the Beemer.
