Need help identifying turn signal lens
« on: April 01, 2009, 08:08:25 PM »
Hello,
Last year I purchased a 1976 CB750K. I don't know its entire history so I don't really know to what extent it may have been "frankensteined".
I think the front end has been modified. I recently lost a turn signal lens. When I went to order a new one for my year and model of bike, I was sent one that was much smaller and of a very different shape. The front and back lenses actually look very similar in size and shape but aren't interchangeable.

The pictures I'm attaching show both the front and side views of the front and rear turn signals. I've also included a shot of the lens that gets sent to me whenever I order one based on my year and model bike.

By looking at the pictures, can anyone tell me what model lens/signal I have on my bike. Also, can anyone tell me where I might find a reasonably priced replacement lens/gasket/bolts.

Thank you .

From what I've been able to find online, the backs of my front signals look like the older models, what with that extra little nub thing. But the lens itself is actually almost the same size in diameter as the ones I have on the back. This is what has been so confusing to me. Is it possible that they made a later model front signal with the extra nub at that back, but with a larger lens?

I would say that the front ones aint Honda, the rears are standard for your year

Hi Hairy,

I can't give you specific help, but I can help you in a process of elimination.

Your last photo, the one labeled "new", I can tell you that one is the one definitely correct for front & rear on the '74 750 K4.

The larger, if you will, flatter lens came sometime after the 1974 years.

Your rear signals are correct for the 1976 model, came in 1975. Front signals are for an 1974 model or earlier.

Because of the angle of the technical drawings, I can't tell from any of the part schematics I've seen what the backside of the signals look like. Are the front signals for the 1976 750K supposed to have those nubs on the backside, or are they smooth as they are on the rear ones?
