Bush's fortune is all from Nazi money. They did business with them during the war (WW2). CIA drug shipping operation was run of of Mina, AR airport while Bush Sr. was pres, and Clinton was Gov of Ark. Coincidence? I think not.

You forgot the definition for Conservative,

Conservative
reluctant to accept change: in favor of preserving the status quo and traditional values and customs, and against abrupt change

Add that to this

Capitolism:
an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

And you get a two class society consisting of the haves and the have nots I believe it was called imperialism

Republicans, the so called Conservatives, have been either in the oval office, in control of the house, senate or all of the above for most of the last 24 years. what a wonderful job they have done

I believe we are our brothers keeper and living in a democracy comes with responsibility

You'll probably think I'm batsh1t crazy on this but I think this collapse was engineered.
These people knew they could get away with outright illegal betting and knew they could get the American taxpayers to foot the entire bill. And fund their lavish lives without skipping a heartbeat. You know what? Its working, meanwhile everyone is so pissed about the 160 million in bonuses to execs- folks that's the headfake to deceive you. Meanwhile the little man behind the curtain continues to pull the levers and Kazaaam! We'ere all in insane amounts of more and more debt. Your children, grandchildren, etc, etc.

Meanwhile they'll parade some poor fool through the streets and put them on some kangaroo trial so everybody will feel better because that one or two scapegoats gets to take the blame for everything.

And the mega bankers get more rich, and more powerful.

It's all a joke folks, and the joke's on you, all of you.

OMG...WHY am I delving into this morass????...I must. This is the thread WINNAR!!!  George Soros has more to do with this whole stinkin enchilada than Obama/Pelosi/Ried combined, that's not to say I support those self serving social engineering bums for one second. IMO we have reached a point in society where it is no longer an argument of left VS right, it has become...what is the RIGHT thing to do (and I don`t mean political right). "We", and I mean GLOBALLY, are all in for some VERY rough times. Spending to get out of a disaster that was CREATED by spending is NOT the answer NOR will it be successful (IMO)  I for one have about had it with ALLLLLL of em. Better "gird" up folks cause the ride just gets bumpier from here.

In a two party system the one party holds the other one up they are hard to topple which is why only two parties get media attention. J.P. Morgan sent his goons to find out how many news papers he had to buy to controll the media, and he bought them the banks own the media. they also own "White Man " radio as it has been called. It is a well known fact that Bill O'ryley gets his topics straight from the white house.

Yeah, I loathe them both equally. They are both a bad joke.

Democrats + Republicans = Corporate sellouts = we lose  :P

The one silver lining I can find in this latest economic mess is that it is the nails in the coffin of "trickle down Reagenomics.

I somewhat agree, but I mostly think they are all crooked, as long as there are PAC groups and lobbyist no politician is  trustworthy or safe. I make good money I pay a lot of taxes and even more union dues. my INS IS 5 .65 PER HOUR WORKED, my pension is 5.50 per hour worked and they just raised my deductable to 10,000 and cut my retirement in half.

Reagan has become a mythological god.  An aspiration as well as a treasured memory that gets better with time.  The fact that the Republicans have created the most Socialistic democracy, in pat through corporate welfare,  while at the same time screaming about the wonderful free-market capitalistic society we MUST maintain -the irony is totally lost on them.  You can calmly try to talk about it, and they look at you with a blank stare.  It just doesn't register.

Sort of like gay marriage will destroy the American family.  If you ask "how"?, they start quoting the Bible.  (It's a grave sin to touch any part of a pig on the Sabbath, BTW, but there's too much money in football- have to shoose your battles, I guess)

OK.  I'm done.

well said Ernie,

I could not care less about a persons religion as long as they don't push it on me. The pledge is fine with " in god we trust" and so is our money, other than that a mans religion, morals, sexual preference and their values in general are betwen them and their maker, as long as they are not hurting any one else

Of course the Republicans want you to leave their money and their ability to extort it from the rest of us alone, then they want to tell you what you should think, believe and how you should live on what is left over when they are done taking

Simply asking a question, Ernie? Because if you are, your the hypocrite that is combining the two on this thread. Don't attack religion, it is why all of us are here in this country, and was the foundation of our country which is being torn apart.

Of course the Republicans want you to leave their money and their ability to extort it from the rest of us alone, then they want to tell you what you should think, believe and how you should live on what is left over when they are done taking

Mark

And the democrats tell you how much money you keep, who should pay more taxes, and what you learn in school. So don't  vote for either.

The fact that you think business owners extort money just shows how ignorant people today are. Its called free market because you are free to make as much money as you can, some people are better at it then others that doesn't mean they are extorting it. Yes there are those who break the law, they get put in jail just like any other criminal. You sound a little bitter about the whole capitalism thing. Maybe you should try and actually start a business and see how people like you extort money from the very company they work for.

"And I suppose your for the seperation of church and state?"

The agreed upon duality, for the most part, is fine with me.  This country WAS pretty much founded on Christian principles.  What really bothers me is the new coalition of terrorist fundamentalism and Catholicism.  Preach absinance while teen-age girls keep having babies?  The pope wants everyone to pray for AIDS victims but don't give anyone condoms?  Using eggs that will eventually be thrown out anyway shouldn't be used for research?

Mr Billybob, wouldn't it br nice if the government would have been saying that to big business they were artifically propping up with huge tax breaks, awarding bids to contractors, not questioning where miloions of doloars disappeared to, payed farms not to grow things, etc.  Republicans are worried about Mrs McGillicutty cheating on her welfare while BILLIONS is leaving the country, getting stashed.  Wal-Mart is creating jobs that pay $7.50 an hour while sending jobs to China.  Other business go to Mexico and India so they can not onoly get cheap labour but throw toxic pollutants out the window insted of dealing with it properly.
No one wants your stinky money.  People want jobs, pal.  They just don't weant to have to move to a foreign country to get one.

I did not say anyone was extorting money from anyone.  The government GIVES big business money.  Free-market capitalism is a myth, just like Reaganism is.

Let me repeat that;  FREE-MARKET CAPITALISM IS A LIE.  IT DOES NOT EXIST AS LONG AS OUR GOVERNMENT ARTIFICIALLY PROPS UP BIG BUSINESS.

OK.  I'm getting sucked in.  This time I really am gone.

FYI  this is just a discusion and I do have my own Business. I am a Foreman for a large construction Company and I also am a legal tax paying contractor, a union contractor that hires well paid skilled help. Not a Project Manger that hires subcontractors I am a general contractor and I take full responsibility for my work and my crews, Drug screens, safety certs and all.

My issue is the lobbyist that work for special intrest groups that buy laws and regulation that benefit big business and no one else, I am talking health care, insurance in general
it's leagal robbery
