Ordering unsual size bolts for CB750K2 resto project
« on: October 20, 2005, 01:09:33 PM »

Hi all,
It seems as everytime I go to add something on to my CB750k2 cafe project I dont have the right bolt anymore. For example last night went to add back the oil lines and found I was missing the x3 hex bolts and the x1 hex bolt (special size). Plus I need to oil breather tube at back of engine to oil tank! My very basic question is....do most of you order each set of bolts and lines from Honda as the need arises or will my local hardware store sell these items (like the x1 hex bolt for the oil line??). Same applies for all the other annyoing little bolts Ive lost track of! What does everyone else do??

Cheers
Andy in Boston

I've either gotten them through my local Honda dealer, or if they are on the list of things to tackle down the road, I build a list and use Servicehonda, even with the min. shipping, $8, I think, it saves the mileage to/from the dealer, usually twice, once to order and then to pick-up.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I usually buy those stainless kits off of ebay, they cover most of the external case screws and bolts plus  get hex heads out of the deal. Anything else is usually Servicehonda. I used to go to homedepot and but the stainless hex bolts there but I found I was making 20 trips for one bike.
