confused with where to buy master cyl. rebuild kit 78 750
« on: March 28, 2009, 04:41:38 PM »
I've looked at 4-5 different places for master cylinder rebuild kits for my 78 CB750 and even though pics of the kits look identical to the compnants that came out of mine, most to all don't list it as being for a 78. They all go up to 76 or don't start until '80. What gives.

Heres one on e-gay from Sirius:

Z1: 79-80 CB750K ??? where the hell is 78?

Maybe for 50 bucks (as opposed to 34 for the rebuild kit), you might think about the ebay listing of a new MC in this thread: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=48864.0  I'm very tempted to go this path with my K6... as well as single stainless line down to the caliper (since the switch is in the MC).  Removing the extra connections and going stainless is very appealing.

I suppose the downside is the non-stock look.

The models listed in the auction include CB750 A 1977-1978......a quick trip over to servicehonda told me that 77-78 CB750A bikes used the same rebuild kits as the 77-78 CB750K bikes, Honda Part numbers 45530-404-305 and 45530-404-315.  The F models used a different kit number.

I'd say go for the kit you linked to.
