Do Harley throttle grips work in reverse? ;) ;D

I like the sentiment, too.  "Screw it.  Let's ride!" :)

  • That'll do pig. That'll do.
That was posted this morning in the New York Times, it was HD's anwser to the NYT article last weekend stating that HD is in major trouble and just kind of sucking wind.

Last year if you had a pulse you could get financed by HD for a bike, now they cannot afford to do their own financing so they have to keep it out of house and that is hurting them.

So to try to keep their "bad @$$" image up they posted that...

Good luck to them but I don't think it's going to get anyone else financed lol.

i don't like american companies latching on to the flag or the country in general to support their products.

to me, its very much like offering me a piece of #$%* headphone radio as a bonus gift, after purchasing a piece of #$%* something or other, in hopes that i won't notice how much i got ripped off for.

"and check out all the great bonus gifts w/ your harley... 42 pounds of leather and an american flag!"

I wonder if they know how ridiculous they are.

They know who their target audience is, and they're catering to them.  I doubt they give two #$%*s what most of us would think.  Marketing is one area that Harley Davidson has excelled in over the past couple of decades.

Yeah, we know they haven't excelled in technological advances the last 50 years!

They are worried because the average age of their rider will be riding wheelchairs pretty soon. Guess they'll have to start building custom wheelchairs with ridiculously expensive aftermarket accessories. Holy Crap, maybe I could pitch that idea to HD!

All though this is an obnoxious way to put it, they have a point.

a fifty year old frame with a fifty year old motor
a bike that weighs more than you can pick up

harleys are a long distance bike
