differences in cb750 pistons
« on: October 20, 2005, 11:48:26 AM »
I was wondering what the differences were between 1978 cb 750 f pistons and 1979 pistons and the 1976 pistons.
thanks for any insight ,,1978 standard piston rings seem to be a little hard to come by.

...hey Norton, I did a rebuild on my 78K this past spring.  I think all the 77/78's have two regular rings, and then what they call an "oil" ring in the 3rd (lowest) slot.  Pre 77 they had 3 regular rings, and u'r right, theres plenty of those out there.  Not sure about anything past 78...

All the 750's have the same number and type of piston rings but the width of the rings altered hence the problems. As far as i knowF2 and F3 pistons are different and most of the rest look similar BUT I am not a 750 man so that aint gospel
