cb650 and cb750 mounting differences

i wanna build my cb650 into a bobber but i dont have the skills to weld up a custom frame for a bobber build all the frames i see are cb750 frames for what i wanna do i just wanna know what are the differences in the monting points on the cb650 and the cb750 if anyone knows if i can put a cb650 motor into a cb750 bobber/chopper frame with minimum modifications please let me know A.S.A.P.
1974 Honda CB450 super sport (sold sniff sniff) (my first bike)

1979 Honda CB650 (we have a love hate relationship)

2008 Honda metropolitan (sold kinda miss it for the gas mileage)

If you re-weld new mount locations for the 650 motor, sure it will fit in a 750 frame.


I've tried a SOHC 650 motor in a SOHC 750 and also a DOHC 750 frame... closer fit on the DOHC 750, but still no go without work with either of them.

However it would be easier stuffing a 650 motor in a 750 frame than the other way around.

Too bad he has a '79, would be a shame to scrap out such a rare frame.
BUT... you might want to look into the pre-fab rigid ends on fee-bay, or have it done by a local welder.
