Just picked up a 1974 cb550 a couple weeks ago and Ive been lurking around for a while so I thought I'd finally post up and say hi. the plans for the bike are to do a complete tear down, and freshen up the engine. Hopefully I'll be riding it by the end of may

Welcome to the forum. I'm originally from Boston, now located in NW CT but I go back often, my daughter lives in Cambridge. You are pretty ambitious for a complete teardown in 2 months. I have a CB500-4 but it was a basket case and I'm just finishing rebuilding the motor, I'd love to ride it this summer but I think that probably won't happen that fast, who knows. I know Bean Town will be one destination for me once I get my steed road worthy. Hope to hook up with you for a ride someday.

thanks for the welcome guys, I got it torn down to the frame already and will be sending it out for powdercoating this week. im making some progress
